Well, there were a bunch of theories on the internet that point towards Horace. If he turns out to be someone we already know then it's the most logical choice along with the priest at the convent where Desmond lived for a while. All of them even before we even knew he had such a high rank within Dharma.

Horus :D

Someone at a Lost forum found the connection ;)

I liked this episode...I new Sawyer was going to move in with Juliette from the beginning.

Why does Richard Alpert not age and why is he so special? They always keep him a secret. How does he get off the island to go meet John Locke when he was a kid? (from season 2 i believe)

damn..2 weeks without LOST

Yeah, it's possible that he does know about the time traveling properties of the island. And it was on S4 ;)

last scene looked like a shampoo commercial

Yea, Richard Alpert is a time travler so he's pretty much ageless :). And F*cking finally they show the statue!!! Hopefully they explain more about it later this season.
jupiterone
what makes them think it's actually Horus?

woscar
Well, if you look at it it's pretty much exactly the same minus the head ornament and some minor details.

That being said, I think it doesn't necessarily have to be something specific like that, more like an amalgamation of different things. It would totally kill the mystery of the statue.

Also, this is a very interesting picture that points out the Anubis connection:
