This is the only part I don't get I guess. I was looking for him in the church, but he obviously wasn't there. What sins did he commit, and were there really whispers? |

He killed Libby & Ana Lucia, while double crossing Jack, Sawyer, Kate & Hurley and returning Ben to the others :) |

Always makes people like you and interested in what you have to say, with a bonus side of coming off as mature. In your head while writing this, did your voice go up in intonation at the end like a teenage girl? Chah, whateverrrrrrr
I have forgotten a lot of what happened in the early seasons. Obviously it would've helped if I had refreshed by watching the DVDs, but I've just been catching them as they come pretty much from the start.
Thanks narcism for the actual info. Now I remember, he did that because Ben promised him he could get him off the island. Man, that seems like so long ago. |

Yep, in return Walt and himself could leave the island :) |

| quote: | | The simple answer is rewatch what Christian Shepard told Jack. He said they all died at DIFFERENT times and the ALT Purgatory world (Season 6 off island) takes place in NO time. So no matter at what point they died, some on the island, some off after leaving, they all make it to the ALT Purgatory world and then to the church to "let go" and move on. |
I don't buy the purgatory argument simply because there were many missing characters. Purgatory sends people to heaven and hell. Those who have committed sins would be in this realm/sideways/afterways too.
MTA:
Also I want to add it is unclear if Richard's old age is only because the Island was off it's axis. He got the white hair before Jack put back the blocker. |

But they do show Anna Lucia the cop and Desmond says she's not ready, so she is an example of someone who died and is in the sideways lost. |

So you're saying Michael is somewhere in sideways lost too? |

Easy there buddy. I wasn't trying to start . Sorry if I offended you.

I thought that his spirit was confined to the island. Hm...
Apparently they tried to get Mr. Eko and Walt to appear in the "purgatory" but scheduling conflicts/money got in the way of that.
Also, I wouldn't go as far as calling the sideways universe purgatory. The writers did a good enough job of not specifically saying what it really was. All we got out of the show was that they're all dead and reunited in this "afterlife" and getting ready to move on. |

i don't think it had anything to do w/ the island/cork/whatever pool. jacob died and jacob is the one who granted richard his eternal life. imo when jacob died richard's spell/whatever was removed. |
