| I knew what they were setting up once Locke found that stuff in french. Still, very cool ending. :) I guess the next episode will be all about what happened to her expedition and how did they all get crazy. |

| Someone made a very keen observation on another forum. The words "Canton-Rainier" on Ben's van are an anagram for "Reincarnation". |

Maybe they're all going to die and then come back as Dharma employees in the 60s. :gsmile: |

i don't understand why sawyer saw the flash but kate and claire didn't at that time
doesn't make sense? |

| I think it's pretty obvious by now that only those who are messed up in time see the flashes. |

| Only the people who are being affected by the time-shifts see the flashes. To everyone else it's as if life is carrying on as normal. |

Yep, it's happened on every flash. Ethan and Richard didn't seem to notice the flashes coming in either.
Think of the record analogy.
Time is the record.
Locke, Sawyer, Daniel, etc. are on the needle.
They are listening the record play and are able to interact with it, but cannot change the music that is playing. The flashes are equivalent to scratches on the vinyl ;) |

I'm not convinced by this timetravelling storyline yet. Either you keep things mysterious bordering metaphysical - or you're going the scientific direction all the way. The time travelling concept which has been introduced, however, makes no sense at all, even within the limits of pseudoscience. Perhaps I'm being too conventional, but the way I always "understood" it was that you take an object X, put it into a dvice Y and send it to time Z. Let's assume that there is this "powerful energy" somewhere in the Island which can send things through time: Why would it selectively move some subjects but not others, regardless of their geographical distance? It all seems too forced and looks as if it wont satisfy either camp at the end: neither the surrealists nor the scientists.
I'm also disappointed by the general Islanders storyline. Back when it was clear that "something terrible" happened to the ones left behind, I was thinking of some real hardcore disasters. I thought this Season would have John Locke being the Others' king waging some crazily cruel wars against other hostiles and what not. Turns out the reason they all die and need to be saved is that ever-skipping timeline which causes those noseblleds - meh :(
Anyway, that Danielle bit was obvious once the French could be heard. Nice of to pick it up. Now on to the 4-toes-statue ;) |
