i find juliette amazingly hot now:eyespop:

and wtf at lock ahaha

ok now we have to analyze the white light at the end of Lost. anyone have any insight on it and the hatch? This is the 2nd time we've seen that bright white light come out of the hatch. The first time of course is in season 1(or 2?) when Locke was banging on the hatch.
jupiterone
i think the only explanation for the loop hole would be christian, who led locke to do what he did. then again, what does that make locke
LeopoldStotch
i sound like a broken record player, but I really want to see how richard alpert plays a role in this whole mess. if you ask me who/what is a likely candidate to be the loophole, i would say richard alpert tops my list, just because he's been involved everywhere.

i do like how the final episodes backtracked a bit, and had Jacob linked with the rest of the Lost characters in the past.

also, that chic Anna must be special and most likely will play a significant role in season 6 after she got her special visit.

I can finally come into this thread! This season I decided to read no internet info on Lost and not watch any previews. It made the experience 10x better.

Leopold: The white light is the nuke going off. The bright light with Locke at the end of season 1 was just Desmond turning on the light in the hatch to use the mirrors/telescope to view what was happening. However, that light was much more than that to Locke and started a series of events.

Basically this is how I see the show at the moment:
Jacob is the good guy. He advocates free will above all else. However he influences people to make the right decisions by impacting their lives in some way.
Fake Locke/other guy on beach with Jacob that wants to kill him/Smokey is the bad guy. He advocates that fate and selfishness will win over free will.
These two have been at "war" from the beginning of time and the island is their battleground. There is a very garden of Eden feel to what I just saw. "God" can only impact other people to choose the right path. "Satan" takes the form of a smoke monster and people that are dead to influence people to choose the path that contradicts God's path. "Satan" thinks he has won by using Ben to kill "God" but "God" has influenced the '77 Losties to use the bomb to create an alternate reality of sorts where the playing field is still on equal footing.

That is basically my interpretation of what is going on. I know a lot of people might be upset with this type of plot development and that it'll get to close to deus ex machina that happened in Battlestar Galactica but I think it's a very interesting idea.

Yeah, I think it's probably something along those lines, although I'm guessing that Jacob and the other guy are two opposing Egyptian gods and Richard is their servant/messenger. I think the statue before it was ripped down was Sobek so that's who I'm guessing Jacob was/is, but I don't know who the other guy is supposed to represent.

makes sense, sobek protected his people from being attacked by crocodiles while they traveled along the nile. which is a pretty accurate representation of the island

"they're coming"

makes sense. they have no one to protect/guide them now. or that dude who killed jacob, may have been making the rules for the others, in turn creating the future that came to be

Awesome info about Sobek guys. Good stuff.
LeopoldStotch
+1. I like the info on Sobek. I'll offer my analysis tomorrow, because i'm tired right now. :(

juliet is hot, and the most selfless person of them all.

the finale was great! what do you think is going to happen next?

DaRoZa
that episode makes me think back to season 1, locke and walt's backgammon game at the beach... "two players, two sides, one is light, one is dark"
jupiterone
god this episode just brought the mystery and excitment back into the show

so hard to know what happens next
