You give up like 6 eps from the end? :wtf:
Obviously I'll watch until the very end, it's just that by now it's somewhat clear (in a relative LOST sense, to be sure) where it's all heading, and simply put, I just don't like that concept. I don't mean to stir up a debate, it's mostly a matter of taste. As far as I see it, there's currently three issues:
1. The narrow on-Island story of believe-and-follow-Locke-or-stay-and-fight-him/succeed Jacob. I think it's a pretty mundane Heroes'esque "save the cheerleader, save the world" story that does the show no justice. Also, the way it's told is far from thrilling. Basically the Losties just sit and wait in groups, meet up, dissolve and have a chit-chat with Locke. This has been going on since "Sundown" and sadly looks to continue all the way to the finale.
2. The relationship between "original" and "sideways" reality. It seems as if it'll lead to the ultimate choice between the two worlds (indicated in "Happily Ever After"). An interesting concept, but it feels to me as if it's been done before - the Oceanic 6's realization that they had a purpose on the Island and their decision to go back. It's basically just another way of phrasing the "purpose/faith" question. This could have been done in another, less time-consuming way. The sideways at times feel like a parody (Sawyer and Miles..Ilana the lawyer..come on now) and care mostly boring me (except for Linus and Desmond's stories).
3. The overarching MIB v. Jacob game/bet. I explained in an earlier post that, while it may take care of many mysteries in a neatly way, from a dramatic point of view, it's a letdown. I simply find it harder to feel with mere "pawns" in a cosmic game than with "real" struggles amongst and within humans, as in previous seasons.
Of course, I have no quick alternative to offer and I admit to being spoiled after 5 incredible seasons of top quality TV entertainment. Still, I cannot but feel disappointed at this point.

Castings for some of these secondary characters are downright sad.
1. I agree.
2. I'd hit it, though.
3. All of Widmore's "army" looks extremely weird..straight out of a LAN party or something.

The only thing I'm annoyed at is that the sideways timeline feels like a completely pointless side-story. They make a lot of drama out of it but it's not very engaging.
This episode was filler, but there always was episodes like this in every season - I bet things from here onwards will pick up the pace again a lot quicker.

the thing that made me laugh the most, it wasn't even the jokes by sawyer. it was the fact that they built up this little expedition of two people in love as can be, searching for each other for what seems like an eternity, and then they finally meet...and it's the most uneventful, cold and boring moment. ever.

I thought it was nice, Sun's expression was very emotional.

I also found it anti-climatic. I was much more moved by Hurley's/Jack's return to the beach tbh. Also, it was a bit ridiculous that the two spoke English. I understand they had to show that Sun was "healed" again, but to keep going and to have them say "we'll always be together"? Oh well.

That's Tina Fey's twin sister, she wasn't blessed with the same ability. :sadgreen:

Good episode. Made me almost forget how unrealistic it is for the Kwons to speak English in their most intimate moments. The first words they say to each other is English. Really? Next weeks episode will be epic.
