richard alpert also seems to be immortal, i assume he's also connected with jacob, like a servant. maybe ilana, bram, etc. are also servants of jacob, which would make sense that jacob's nemesis seemed scared when jacob said they were coming. seems like gods can't kill each other, but people can. |
This is a great point |

i ing love how vulnerable ben has become...
also noticed that in the flashbacks of jacob visiting each one that in some form he touched them, pressing kate on the nose, handing a pen to sawyer and chocolate to jack, he put his hand on hurleys chest... so maybe its true he is some kind of 'god'
also would like to know what the loophole is:
didn't ben and widmore also play by these rules, that they cant directly kill eachother |

would be cool if by touching them, he gave them immortality as he possibly did with Alpert et al. if so, i bet they survive the nuclear explosion (except for juliet, who we assume jacob didn't touch)
if they do survive the blast, they would probably successfully avert the original crash that brought them to the island. however, i'm sure jj abrams is one to cross storylines, and if you're watching Fringe, they probably would still exist after the blast since they only averted the crash in this particular timeline after all of the time jumping. |

I think Miles was right. Blowing up the bomb was "The Incident". I bet the explosion combined with the incredible amounts of energy they found underground is what sends the 70's Losties back to the future. |

A Hydrogen bomb exploding pretty much in everyone's faces would kill them instantly. |

A scenario à la "The Mummy Returns" with Jacob and the black man as Egyptian gods would be a bit disappointing imo.
The good thing with that season finale is that the most relevant theory (the timeloop one), is now way too weak to explain it all. |

if the bomb explodes and does in fact wipe everything thats happened previously, then jacob wouldn't be dead. |

| I'm still not convinced that the white flash was the bomb exploding. As said before it could just as easily have been the same white flash we saw when the hatch blew up. If that's what it was then the whole "gang" could be anywhere or anyplace when next season starts up. |

we also seen the white flash when the island was moved? could be relevant
Just watched the episode again, i think richard knew something was up with locke, when he was questioning jack about him. Maybe jacob/richard knew what was going to happen all along.
Also thing the god/devil thing has a lot to do with it now, jacob wearing a white tee on the beach, the other guy a black tee. The ending credits were white with black writing. |

This is what I'm thinking too. The bomb didn't go off, it's just the release of energy that's supposed to happen.
I love this show. Season 5 has been absolutely brilliant! |
