I never said they did.
Only five nation have veto power: UK, France, USA, Russia, and China.
Russia and China have both historically vetoed anit-Palestinian bills going through the security council, if thats something to brag about, the fact that only the most dictatorial, authoriative, and corrupt governments will veto bills against Palestinians, then by golly, go a head. I'd rather have the USA, a free, capitalistic, successful, democratic nation be one country who vetos any anti-democractic, anti-freedom resolution against Israel, then have two or three disgustingly corrupt countires veto in favor of Israel. |

free, well, yes, relatively speaking it is free-er than most other countries, America's not as free as you think though. Capitalistic, yeah, I agree with that, though I don't see how that's supposed to be a necessarily good thing. Successful, that depends on how you define success. If that includes slavery, wiping out an indigenous population and taking over their land (i.e. Native American Indians) and deplorable and even sometimes brutal US foreighn policy and involvement post world war 2, then, yes, America is really sucessful. |

it was the first link to pop up in google, you think I'm going to actually get off my arse and look for more in-depth sources?! Nope, top 5 on google and that's it for you guys. This thread an't worth much more time.
I glanced over, they seemed to make good accurate points. Try and bring a few critisms on the link instead of just laughing on the topic. |

Dont get me wrong Bard is full of facts and figures, its just that his entire book (as is Dershowitz's) is one giant straw man (Bard's book is actually online and is what you linked, you might like to read it it should be right up your ally!) |

Although I promised myself not to post in this thread for so many reasons, I just couldn't let this one slide. You should know that "A Case for Israel" contains plagiarized material from a hoax of a book, specifically Joan Peter's "From Time Immemorial". Both Peter's hoax of a book and accusations of Dershowitz's plagiarism have been convincingly demonstrated by Norman Finkelstein at different points in time. Thus, not only is Dershowitz guilty of plagiarism, but he's also rather incompetant. I'll let you do your own research with regards to this matter, but just google it for fun. |
