I dont think I called you fundamentalist in my last post did I? The term I used was "religious nut" and I put it to you that your religious views are the main reason for your support for Israel (no matter how much you then try and justify that position, the reason you took that side in the first place is cos of religion) |

i find it funny how what i say flies right over some peoples heads.
if u didnt get the satire, i meant when i said, "i didnt know the settlers were oppressing other people??", that, "with the suicide bombers and terrorist attacks going on sporadically,". both sides are oppressing each other. yet, even though the palestinians are definatly not innocent of anything, you say the settlers, who were there for gov't incentives i might add, are the ones doing the oppressing...
did i say it was justified? im comparing the palestinian plight with the native american one of the 19th century.
calling me a religious nut is basically calling me a fundamentalist. im not stupid. several of you use this terminology to designate the religious right in a sort of dorogatory term. but basically, i do support israel because of their biblical relationship and also because they are the most threatened country in the world. what other country is surrounded by enemies that would like to see nothing more than israel's destruction. has anyone thought about that?? who really started this conflict? who started these wars? it wasnt israel.
P.S. i have nothing against any of you, but a couple of you are very hostile. im here for a good debate, not hostility and childish name-calling. i respect all of your opinions, ide appreciate if you did the same. |

The thing is, you cant say "the Palestinians are definately not innocent of anything" cos they are not a harmonious entity. They are not all terrorists. However, everyone of the settlers are guilty of inflaming the conflict by locating themselves illegally in areas they have no right whatsoever to live in.

And how can you say Israel is the most threatened country in the world?! Its an ally of America making it one of the most secure countries in the world! I'd venture to say North Korea, Syria and Iran are in a hell of a lot more of a threatening situation than Israel. I've said it before and I'll say it again (no doubt) but where exactly is the existiantial threat to Israel coming from? There isn't one, simple as.

And what is Israel doing to end the conflict? The ball is in Israel's court, not the Palestinians.

You have got to be ting me. Pre-WW2 before Zionism wasn't popular amongst European Jews, virtualy none of them were in Israel. There would be no ing Israel-Palestine conflict if European/American Jews didn't start immigrating to Palestine/Israel to make a country based on a racist ideology which required forcibly displacing the indiginous population. What kind of twisted logical did you use to come to that conlusion?
The indigenous population includes Jews, Muslims, and Christians, who lived in peace until European/American Jews came there and started this whole mess. |

One thing I have never been able to get my head round is that if you are using religion to decide whose side you are on, then what makes you go against the Christians (your own religion) and support a completely different religion that oppresses Christians? |
