Cyrus needs to take a look at history as well. The Palestinans and Israelis are in a several thousand year feud according to the biblical account of Isaac and Ishmael. It is not about the creation of a state (which the Palestinians had until they screwed themselves over in 1948), they want to wipe the Jewish people of the face of the earth. Look at the perceution of Jews. The Assyrians, Romans, Islamic empires from the Fatmids to the Ottoman Empire, Christian kingdoms of the Middle Ages. Pograms in Poland and Russia/Soviet Union, Adolf Hitler, Vichy France Govt, etc.
As a historian, I say it is a miracle that the Jewish culture is still here today. It should have been assimilated or utterly destroyed. Some say it is luck or because they are God's chosen people. Whatever reason you contribute to their continued existance, they have the right to defend themselves and civilians will be killed. Such is war. Civilians will die while targeting terrorist leaders and groups, but remember the Palestinians put themselves in this situation.

In order to create an only jewish state, they needed to remove the INDEGINOUS population so that a predominantly eastern european/russian jewsih migration could occur. You think these palestinians were happy this was happening? THat the arab world was enjoying the fact that an ethnic cleansing was occuring?
And with respect to your comment about defending themselves...How is shooting children throwing rocks at tanks, building settlements on palestinian land, demolishing homes and neighborhoods, airstrikes in crowds, curfews, theft of land, uprooting orchards, checkpoints etc... DEFENDING ISRAEL???
How is this a WAR? The fifth strongest military in the world against a population using rocks, suicide bombers and molotov coctails? These are civilians taking arms in the occupied territories, fighting agains the machine of oppression that shouldnt be there.
Just becuase the Jews have this horrid past where empires wanted them dead, does that legitimize this agressive action and death toward the occupied populace? Isnt it ironic how similar these israeli agressions are to the people that have persecuted them?
How did the palestinians put themselves in this situation? Expain this and please dont use that bookyou call the bible, it means nothing to me - like any other religious text. |

Since Cyrus is stressing the current situation,I will try to be brief. the Palestinians HAD a NATION in 1948 under U.N. Partition Plan 181 which went into effect Nov. 29, 1947. (Personaly I cant find a map of this carved up Isreali and Palestinian nation, if some one could find and post) Due to their hatred or dislike of the Jewish state. The Palestian state along with the rest of the Arab world invaded Isreal. Isreal repelled the invasion and took some of the Palestian state, while Jordan took the West Bank and Egypt took the Gaza Strip. Isreal took the Gaza strip and the West Bank in the 1967 war.
TO THE CURRENT SITUATION:
Isreal is hunting down Palestinian terrorists who are killing Isreali civilians. They are exercising their right of self-preservation. In the Iraq war, civilians were killed. Collateral damage happens. To get a select few rulers people areound then will be killed. To cut off the head of some of these terrorists group, civilians we be killed. ACCEPT DEATH IT IS A FACT OF LIFE.
