I don't want to reconnect! That girl is like heroin. I cease to function when she is in my life (well thats probably hyperbole).
I have no idea what the it is with her, but for some reason my gut clenches up, I get sweaty palms, and my mind just goes into a tumble at the mere sight or mention of her.
It sucks. Even 2 years down the line... :(

Isn't there any other girl you fancy? It sounds like you probably idealise her because (1) either you've never been as close to other girl as you've been to her (2) or you don't know many more girls so you haven't given yourself the opportunity to fancy anyone else.
Either way, the solution is the same: go out there and meet other girls! :)

Yea, I do, and I have, in the past, not recently, but I have ended up sabotaging myself for some reason, only to go crying back to her (that was her MO too, execept she wouldn't sabotage herself)... :stongue:
There are other girls at the moment though, but I am freaking out thinking I'm sabotaging myself again... :mad: and its not even a closeness thing... Actually the idea of sex with her was always incredibly off-putting (and still is). Its a ed up web of I don't know what with her and my brain.

If you don't want to sleep with her, it means you don't want a relationship with her, which in my view already makes your situation a load easier than I imagined. It's countless times easier to avoid people you don't want close relationships with than vice versa. Move on.

Yea. I wish it was that easy. Its like some ed up faux-incestuous jealousy thing though. I don't want to sleep with her, but the idea of anyone else sleeping with her pisses me off to no end (and makes me sick). I love hanging out with her, and when I do I feel so content and happy and like in my place... We don't even have to talk, we'd just sit around and watch movies or read or listen to music...
I don't know. We grew up together, she is like my little sister in a lot of regards and she was my best friend from the time I was like 8 till I was like 22 when we just stopped talking (after a few years of roughness and weird tension ).
If I wanted to her it would have been so much easier... I probably do but its so ingrained in me with her that I kept thinking that'd it up. I probably shoulda tossed that notion to the side the first time the extent of my feelings for her came up.
Whatever. There are way better girls out there than her, I know it, I've met them. :) She still just has some sort of hold on one of the strings in my chest. Best to avoid letting her get close to them.
