Our cable is a rip. We pay 120 bucks a month for basic cable and light internet (2G/month download limit). Thank god we don't watch a lot of tv, cause I wouldn't want to pay more for it.
Also, the hydro company is doing double month billing now, so we pay about 3-400 bucks each bill. At my old place it was never more than 30 bucks a month. But it was like 5 times smaller than our house. :p |

it ing sucks man.
cable goes like this (i dunno about satllite)
$20-$30 for your basic cable (i.e. network stations, plus like TBS, and maybe something else...it's only about 15 channels. think of it as "i have a TV fee"
$30-$50 additional for "expanded basic". this is your 72(ish) channel cable. MTV, USA, TWC, TLC, etc..etc...
that's not just a regular charge, it's in ADDITION to the first charge.
want HD channels? those are $15 a month on top. but you can't just have basic cable + HD. you have to have basic + expanded + HD.
oh but wait, in order for you to have HD, you have to have the cable box / digital converter or whatever the it is. that's $15 a month. that usually includes DVR as well.

And yeah :wtf: @ paying 100 bucks for tv. that. Even the cable we have now is an extended pack, so we can actually have to good "basic" channels...and I only watch about 5 channels. Stupid thing is you can't just have the extendex channels on their own, you have to have the standard first.
I think the only time we really ever want more channels is to watch UFC. But meh. |

Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there Pie.
This 'hydro' bill for $400... That's gotta be weed right? Not, like, water? :wtf:
Back to TV though. Yeah, y'all are probably not paying that much, I guess. It's more than likely to be twice the price over here. I wouldn't know :p I just can't believe that you guys watch that much TV! |

I really don't, that's the ty part :stongue:

actualy i think most of us don't watch that much.
one good thing about my cable is the "on demand" stuff. so if i miss an episode of whatever, i can go back and watch it. but then again, that's the point of the DVR too....so yeah, i dunno.
it has porno on there too, but it's like $14.99 a movie + fees and you only get it for like 3 hours before it expires. pretty lame in my opinion.
part of me wants to seriously cancel all of it and just have internet. but those occasional shows i watch i'd really miss :( |

Hydro = water + electricty. Oh, we also have HST now, so that really s with the cost. Don't forget that's for TWO months. I think our smallest bill since living here was 80 bucks? (for one month) |

HST?
still, water + elec = $400?? . my highest water + elect was about $180 last summer ($130 elec, $50 water). my gas bill is like $35 a month in the summer, but near $150 in the winter :(
ohhhh and for 2 months, that's not as bad as i thought. still sucks though |
