that aside. American government is the same as the american people- deny the existence of debt. JUST 13 TRILLION in debt. but yeah, they're still really rich, right?? :haha:
like , the people cause the banks to go down cause they're too stupid to stop getting loans when everybody knows they'll never pay them back, but the government's been doing the same thing for however long. Outstanding economy. Flawless. |
It's in a recession. All countries go through them. They're not permanent, and typically the economy comes out of it much stronger. I came to the US during a massive economic boom in Ireland, but now Ireland is in a recession as well. There's no such thing as a static or ever-growing economy. These things ebb and flow. |

So the US has been in recession since the 70s??????????
it didn't become 13 trillion in debt (or more now) since the recession, it was ALREADY 11 trillion in debt, and producing nothing before all that happened |

haha I don't, I just found the original post extremely annoying (about the US being an economic powerhouse etc i mean) :p
And yeah, I think it's ironic that the government gets angry at the irresponsible citizens for breaking the banks by dodgy loans etc, when the government itself has so many loans it will never be able to repay--
further, its the product of being the only superpower- haters gonna hate and all that ;) |

Hmmm, it wasn't really the populations fault entirely for the economic collapse. Our government waged a long, expensive war it obviously couldn't really afford; on top of the economy being manipulated by a select group of people for personal gain while the rest of the population suffered and will continue to suffer.
I doubt things are going to get much better from here. |
