Hrmm, spinning both, I've not had any problems and the both seem the same to me in my head.
Then again I am a pretty good DJ when it comes to beat matching... (even Jake goes "wtf" when I can beatmatch a track, begin mixing, let it ride mixed with both faders up, turn around and start talking to him... :stongue: ).
I need to steal my turntables back from Adam and tell him to just fix his own... all he needs is a new pitch fader in both, I think the motors are fine (they dont hold pitch very well anymore, but they are 1200s) |

I used to live in NZ :p
We do have it here, it's called HECS/HELP, but you have to pay it back once you start full time work.
I'm think I'm currently losing 5 or 5.5% of my annual wage to repayments. You never actually see the money though as you do, it just automatically covers uni fees. |

same thing here, we've got until 6 months after graduation to start paying it back. and it also disburses through the school first where the bursar's office takes what it needs for tuition, but the leftover cash, if there is any, is mailed out to the student via check for them to use towards room and board/living expenses/books/school supplies/computers/poker/drugs/hookers.
this semester cost ~4600 bucks, and i got ~1700 back. so i've actually made more than my entire leftover check in one session. lol. |

Yea see ours is for tuition only.
For the other stuff, there's a seperate government agency that you can apply to for help but getting money out of them is harder than pulling teeth.
Plus if your family income is decent and you still live at home, you're pretty much automatically out. As it should be really.
I don't want my tax money supporting lazy students who only take the money so they don't have to work part time like the rest of us did at uni. |

that's basically how ours is, just combine the tuition and that other loan you're talking about together. it's also a bunch of bull to get that money as well because we also follow the same trends as you guys in regards to qualifications for the loans. you have to apply through a government agency online, and it's impossible for a student to get financial aid if they are under 24, living at home (dependent), or if their parents make decent money; unless the parent co-signs for the loan. mine wouldn't do that for me, so i had to wait until i turned 24 before i could apply. i've been independent since age 18, and since being laid off in 2009, i qualify for a ton of financial aid. w00t.
also if you're convicted of a drug-related offense, they won't give you aid either. |
