I'll have to check that out - I heard rumblings it was being made but then the buzz fizzled out. I'll just rent it from Block-Buster after we're done sitting on Avatar and The Hurt Locker.

watching the first ep of the 2009 version now.... really not at all good... Looks like ian mckellin will be number 2 for the series (would have preferred him as the main guy :p ), the episode AT LEAST (maybe the whole season) includes ing flashbacks to his real life, and he has a fkn love interest on the island... ALREADY!!
pretty much is lost, throwing away everything good from the original show so far. :whip: :whip: :eyes:
edit: Oh yeah, and they're not on an island, they're in the middle of the desert, NO DOUBT because they were scared they would be too similar to lost haha, so bad!!
number 2 also just brainwashes him into thinking this is the only place he's ever been, so it's meant to just be whether or not he really has ever been on the outside, instead of in the orig they say he's a prisoner there because he's too dangerous to be allowed to be free when he tried to resign from his job... fukkin lostttt~~~ |

Meh, my mind is going all sorts of crazy lately but I'm really trying to avoid letting it out on here. |
Strange, I come here solely for that purpose. :) |

People have heard enough of my crap. |
Usually I can get it sorted out by getting into music but there are those times (quite a while back, actually) and matters where the impending scope of whatever issue's renting space in my head seems to be a cacophony which drowns out the I'd rather be focused on. |

Yeah, but you're posting snark about music and making Eurodance mixes rather than, say, engaging in a one-man orgy of whining, anxiety, and self-pity. |

This is so Eeyore.
I really should find that Aldous Huxley (I think) quote about 'a heaven of hell and a hell of Heaven.' |

The quote is by John Milton. |

lews, check out fahrenheit 451, by ray bradbury, if you like brave new world.
Really short, straight to the point, brilliant and underrated sci-fi/dystopian novel :)
I've done a lot of reading in my day, not for the last couple years though, but consider myself pretty well read at least in the classics... Havn't done heaps of sci-fi reading, and if it is sci-fi it's usually just dystopian stuff (like 1984, brave new world), rather than star-wars type proper sci-fi..
I loved Ender's Game by orson scott card, if you havn't read that: Tis more normal sci-fi, but with great plot and twists :) |
I'd actually consider 1984/BNW to be more Proper Sci-Fi than Star Wars :p
I enjoy reading some Star Wars novels for fun light reading occasionally, but I love the deeper cuts of the genre :) Huge fan of dystopian stuff.
Have read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow, enjoyed them both a lot. Want to read the sequels, I've heard they get a lot more philosophical which would be interesting to read.
I love The Martian Chronicles and I've been meaning to check out 451 one of these days. I think my girlfriend actually has a signed copy of the book somewhere. |

I'm getting so physically and mentally exhausted :(
One more day of work and then a three day weekend for me :) |

| Probably in the best health I've been in for some time, but the cold, stress and impending legal fees from my solicitors make me cranky. So I go lift weights, do some cardio, wear myself out and fall down for a bit. |
