Ohhh, Florida's not so bad. It's barely the south. If you have a job secured down there, you should definitely just go for it. Opportunity rarely knocks twice, etc. |
Yea, its a senior position too... I have to see what they are offering. |

Are you serious??? You got a job offer and you're actually considering not taking it so you can stay in your parents' basement and not make any money whatsoever? |

| Only big problem is, for better or worse, I still have my company, and I have a business partner, and we have contractual obligations between each other and between another company. So essentially it'd be a second job, but a more traditional full time one... |

Don't worry, I'm sure he's rationalizing his way out of it as we speak. :p

Sadly it is true though. :( If I had no friends and hadn't started this venture last summer I'd jump all over it and move to Florida... Ugh... even saying that sounds totally not what I'd do. |

Your friends will understand. If they don't, they're not your friends. If any of them require an explanation, tell them that it just isn't working out since you're not making any money at this - as much as you enjoy it - and you need to find a way to sustain yourself, hence why you're seizing this opportunity and moving.
It's as simple as that. Fortune favours the bold and all of that, and sometimes you have to cut people loose in life, especially when it's not working for you. Just try it. It's a huge chance, and a huge committment - and it may not work out, but it's obvious to everyone that you have a huge safety net and I'm sure that your parents would love to see that their son has actually committed to a great opportunity to offer him some independence. |

I didn't apply. They came to me. They came to me because of my mod-making. |

Maybe he could leverage a better offer by letting them know his current salary.
"So you see, I want 60k/year plus 7 hungry man dinners per week. This is non-negotiable. I will also require lodging that I don't need to take care of, and somebody to microwave my dinner. Don't worry about soap though, I don't need that." |

| TBH I won't be interested if its under 80k a year and doesn't include relocation expenses. |
