Your logic is astounding. You're going to die anyways, so you might as well die sooner! |
And what makes you think that I want to live till I'm 90 or 100?.. I don't. :)
I appreciate your concern for my health, but telling a random stranger who is a smoker that smoking is bad for them (as if they didn't already know that  ) smacks of arrogance. And I have little respect for that attitude.

I'm not concerned for your health, I'm concerned for your spread of irrational and idiotic sentiments. It's not even just the time that's taken away from your life, but the manner in which you die. I'm sure you'll have a slightly different opinion on the matter when you're wasting away with doctors futilely pumping you full of toxic chemicals and radiation, making your hair fall out and forcing you to receive nourishment through tubes because you can't swallow or digest solid food, all the while living in a perpetual state of agony. Sounds like how I'd want to go! |

| Yeah, do you think one day the years of smoking cigarettes will just make you die painlessly and instantly? Think again, you will die slowly and painfully. And probably way too early, much to your family/children's dismay. |

I love how people try to justify smoking cigarettes. There is no justification. It's a repulsive, disgusting habit that does nothing but wreak havoc on your own organs and bothers everyone else around you. The smell is sickening. |
I know that it's repulsive and that it will kill me. :)
But at least I don't subject anyone around to it. I strictly forbid smoking in my house even when I have friends over who do smoke.
srussell: It's not logical at all. It's an addiction and I'm not giving it up just yet. |

This may astound you, too. But I am not terribly concerned about my body breaking down and being in constant agony and misery, because if it gets to the point where I'm not satisfied with things I'll just call it a life.
I know I'll have to give it up eventually. But for now I very much enjoy it, it is my one vice of choice and I'm not planning on giving it up any time soon.
But if it makes you feel better, you're both absolutely right. It is a disgusting habit and there is no justifying it. It makes no sense that someone would do this to themselves, and yet I do. I'm a masochist, I think. Much to my parents' dismay. |

| You only enjoy it because it makes you enjoy it. Slave, imo :o |

| It's not disgusting. People who throw their buts wherever is disgusting, but I am inclined to think the same thing about people who might throw water bottles wherever they want. Oh no, drinking water is disgusting! |

| That's actually a huge factor in why smoking is so addictive - because it's effects are insidious and long term. People have a hard time quitting something if it doesn't cause harm right away. |

| I don't smoke, and I actually like the smell of second hand smoke. Smells like a party. As long as its not on my clothes. |
