dude that sucks. Do you need anything from me?
Side note:
I don't know why people are so afraid of getting their wisdom teeth taken out. I get to stay home and eat mashed potatoes & ice cream with vicodin sprinkles. This is badass. |
wait, you're getting them taken out....NOW? aren't you like 25?
man i had that done when i was 17 lol. i think i was too young to FULLY appreciate the vicodine sprinkles. |

I had the anaesthetist sing a bloody lullaby to me before the dentist pulled my wisdom teeth out. Now every single time I hear a lullaby I remember what it feels like to have a needle piercing your palate.
Ouch :p |

| All four grew in without issue, never any pain and only one was actually impacted. I've had them out for a good 5-6 years now and on Sunday I noticed my jaw was a little sore. Woke up on Monday thinking that I was just massively hungover from all the drinking I did on Sunday. 9am rolls around and it's literally the most blinding pain I've ever had, I couldn't even concentrate at work. Called a dentist and went down, the gum around the impacted wisdom tooth was infected, so they snipped some gum back and cleaned it out. I woke up today and half of my face is swollen. I figure the infection spread and I should just get the whole thing removed. I imagine I'll get the others taken out, but they've grown in fine so I really don't see a reason why. |

| dry sockets and paresthesia are some major complications |

Yeah they made me watch a video, I don't remember what dry sockets are though :conf:
The paresthesia is long lasting numbness from hitting that jawbone nerve, right? |

I read this as "dry socks" and "synaesthesia" are some major complications... seeing body odour never sounded so dangerous :p |

yeah sometimes to roots of the molar decide to cluster around the nerve, then you have to section the tooth and along the way you might touch the nerve , inflaming it ...this causing a paresthesia .
or the needle that anesthetizes your jaw might actually touch the nerve as well ,causing a slight laceration of it , resulting in paresthesia .
dentistry is hard :( |

| Yeah I remember that. The numbness is gone now, I've been icing it on and off every 15 mins and just trying not to stress my jaw. No soreness/tenderness at the moment but I'm sure that's the vicodin :p |

| Woot. I was told my wisdom teeth will unlikely ever be a problem. They are small and growing perfectly straight up and he said they would probably never reach the surface or contact each other. :D |
