I got a letter in the mail today from my school, inviting me to join Golden Key International Honour Society, for my academic achievement. I thought this was pretty cool until I saw that there's a one time membership fee of 90 dollars.
THAT.
I must say, the scholarship opportunities look pretty sweet though...however, there's all this other about community service and mentorship, etc. I ain't got time for that !

Actually, I met them on the street. I tried to avoid visual contact but they approached as soon as they spotted me. I was very friendly the whole time because I really thought it was amusing as hell and they did offer to either tell me "the good news" right there or come to my place afterwards and bring their super-doper message with them.
I told them I can't really have visitors where I live but that they shouldn't worry, I'll visit them instead if I ever become curious about what it is that they have to say. They told me where the Mormon centre is and I know what area of my neighbourhood I should politely avoid from now on :p

They always send that out to the ing keeners, and it's all pretty damned pointless on your end. I always got harassed by the Who's Who and Dean's List bull when I was in school, and I wanted nothing to do with it because it's all a sort of scam to appeal to people's obvious sense of self-achievement/entitlement.

I never thought my life could be
Anything but catastrophe
But suddenly I begin to see
A bit of good luck for me

Deans List can be pretty good if you're intending on applying for graduate roles at major corporations, at least over here it is.
All that other crap is usually just a waste of money.

Well yeah, I thought I implied that I knew that in my post. I'm not buying into that , lol. The only thing I could possibly want out of that is some money, but ehhhhh.
On another note, I had another ed up dream last night. I was at school for a meeting or something that finished at dusk. I left the building with some colleagues, but as we were exiting the building I heard someone distinctly yell out my last name and scream "HELP US!!" I then heard more voices yell out to "DO SOMETHING!!!" and then I heard a blood curdling scream before a mob of people came running from the left. Someone yelled out to not just stand there/you'd better ing run, so I joined the mob in running into another building on campus.
When we got into the other building it turned into a full swing party with DJ and disco ball, punch, etc. However, the vibe was very zombie movie/invasion of the body snatchers-ish, and I could sense the unease/tension amongst the group. I could tell that nobody was actually enjoying themselves, and that it was just all just a front to not be "discovered" by whom/whatever was chasing us.
I was hiding under the DJ setup, and as the DJ reached for a record from his bag he saw me, so I decided "Ah it" and just came out. The DJ smiled and asked if I was having a good time, and then two more ladies approached to also ask if I was enjoying myself. I said that I was but could tell that these questions were a test to find out if I was one of them or not. They asked how my mother was doing and I said fine. The two ladies whispered to each other and I thought "OH " knowing that I had probably just blown it, so when they asked me how my sister was doing I told myself to make up a lie.
So here's the actual ed up part, lol. I was trying to spit out "She's dead" but I guess the effort of this woke me up - and I could hear myself saying SHEEEE'S DEEEAAAAD all ing slow in a wonky dream voice and it scared the out of me. So I screamed and woke up, lol.
THEN, because I was so freaked out and disoriented I was feeling around in bed for I dunno what - my boyfriend, the cat, anything - to let me know I was safe in real life. And I brushed my hand on something soft and furry that didn't make sense, which also scared the out of me so I screamed again, lol.
