so like a surgeon nurse? or like an OR nurse? or like a plastic surgeon nurse? Not trying to sound like russel here (lol), just wondering....because every Nurse does something different...amiright? |
Hahah nah it's a legit question. I'll be managing the care of pre and post op patients for all kinds of different surgeries. My essential role as a nurse isn't any different, just the specific skills/tasks I'll be doing and the focus of my assessments. I'll get to do a lot of really cool (in a nursey way, lol) dressing changes and wound care, management of tubes and drains, tons of different IV medications, blood transfusions, helping patients mobilize, blahblahblah. There is also a stepdown unit within the surgical floor for very high acuity patients that require more intensive monitoring and care that I'll get to cover. People who have had epidurals and .
Gonna be fun! Lol. |
