Fair enough. I left about 9 years ago. I suppose I didn't really go to the boutique-type places though, being a scummy backpacker :p I worked at one of them though, in 2000. Fancy little place in Chelsea (The Chelsea Ram). I think the most expensive beer/ale was 3 quid though? Probably double that now, lol. |

Yeah, Honeyrabbit spent all her money before we even cleared London, so by the time we ended up around Blackpool/Lanc it was starting to sting a bit because we where always staying at B&B's or a hotel... and I made the mistake of taking my long lost cousins from there out on the piss.
Yeah... that was expensive. |

Haha, you went to Lancaster? Or did you just mean Lancashire in general? I lived in Lancaster for more than a year :p I actually really liked it, despite it being described to me as "the kind of place you only end up if you took a wrong turn off the M-something-or-other". |

Lancaster itself, under protestation I drove around Manchester (because its rubbish) to visit relatives.
I don't mind the place, its a bit pokey/country town-ish but ok.
So yep, stayed with the 'lations who I hadn't seen for about 10 years and ended up quite drunk for a long period of time. |

Yeah, it's pretty small, but was a breath of fresh air after living in London and Amsterdam. I suppose 'fresh air' could be taken literally, in both cases there.
It was good fun at my age back then (I hate saying that), since there's a big university and lots of partying. And a surprisingly awesome DnB scene as well :wtf: |

I will one day, for sure. Next on my list for travels is either Canada or a few spots in south east Asia (Phillipines/Indonesia/Borneo/others).

England is a case of been there, done that for me. Bad enough I lived there for 7 years :p
You'd like Vietnam and the Phillipines, Vietnam is cheap, friendly and easy to get around, just go when its not the wet season. Filipinos are pretty chill to hang out with, their women are all completely mad... I dunno why. |

my 'must see' list includes aus & nz, cyprus, kenya, rwanda, namibia, fiji, the UAE states like abu dhabi, dubai etc and scandinavia. |

Yeah, the wet season thing applies to most of that region. The last thing I'd want is to be stuck in a typhoon :p
Holy they have some amazing birds over there though, which is one of the main reasons I want to go. And that it's cheap :p And not as 'ed' tourism-wise. |

Vietnam has an established tourist industry, but its not really to the point of coach tours and stuff. I only got to spend 3 days there as a bit of a 'what to do with myself for a week' in between coming back from Japan on my way back to France, so I didn't get around to roaming very far.
Burma and Cambodia also have large amounts of wilderness full of animals, plants and birds, but its considerably more dangerous to visit or so I was told. |
