you. I did not want a solution. I just wanted to complain. Besides, I like my vices.
/typical cvnty woman episode.
Ben, I replaced booze with coffee (sort of), cuz you know, the easiest way to get rid of a habit is to replace it with an other.. and these momentary morning headaches are way more tolerable than the ty hangovers and fatigue that last all day.
I'm such a genius. |

haha well, as you know moderation is key. I hardly drink alcohol any more outside of when I go somewhere with friends. |

| Selma, out of curiosity: Have you ever tried to take an aspirin and refrain from drinking coffee to see if the headache disappears the following day? Maybe something else is causing it, and you can then fearlessly drink your cup of coffee with no concerns :) |

Tried that, no work.
It only disappears (within like 5 minutes) after I drink coffee.
I know this is not uncommon as some of my friends/family members who are coffee drinkers experience the same thing.
Edit: On a related note, my boyfriend claims he gets headaches when he doesn't drink his Cola.
I suspect he may be lying because I always bitch at him for drinking so much coke. |

Caffeine is a vasoconstrictor if I remember correctly (Jennie?) and as such, can cause headaches to dissipate if they are caused by vasodilation. |

Indeed a common cause of headaches is a low blood pressure and an expension of cerebral vessels. Caffeine acts against both and is therefore commonly added to drugs for these benefits. So the most likely explanation is a low blood pressure in the morning, or, of course, caffeine withdrawal.

However, many over-the-counter pain remedies labeled as "anti-migraine" medications contain caffeine as the ingredient which qualifies them as being anti-migraine. Caffeine is actually contraindicated as a treatment for migraine head-aches and will make them worse.
