Cigarettes being "gross" is the least of my worries. |

| Ok, cancer is grody. Better? |

| Very rarely from lung cancer, though. |

Colorectal cancer is not any less vile.. |

Lung cancer is responsible for 29% of all cancer deaths, and is 3 times as common as colorectal cancer. There isn't a multi-billion dollar industry that profits from the sale of a product which causes 85% of all colorectal deaths, as is the case with cigarettes and lung cancer.
| quote: | dyspnea (shortness of breath)
hemoptysis (coughing up blood)
chronic coughing or change in regular coughing pattern
wheezing
chest pain or pain in the abdomen
cachexia (weight loss), fatigue, and loss of appetite
dysphonia (hoarse voice)
clubbing of the fingernails (uncommon)
dysphagia (difficulty swallowing). |

Blood in the stool
Diarrhea, constipation, or other change in bowel habits
Narrow stools
Weight loss with no known reason. |
Which set of symptoms sounds worse to you? Dying of cancer is awful no matter what type it is, but the symptoms of lung cancer for those who are living with it are far worse. Many cases of colorectal cancer don't even present symptoms until they're already end-stage, and some never present symptoms. |

| Hey smoke if you want. I never try to get people to quit. If you're going to do it, though, be honest with yourself about the reality of what you're doing :) |

What are you trying to achieve here?.. I know all the statistics already, and smoke anyway
I'm aware that I'm on a suicide mission. :gsmile:

You clearly don't with statements like "colorectal cancer is not any less vile.."
The overall 5 year survival rate for patients with SCLC alone is about 5%, and the median survival time is 20 months.
Even cases of colorectal cancer with regional lymph node metastases have a 5 year survival rate of 40%. An invasive tumor without metastasizing to other areas of the body has a 5 year survival rate of 70%.
Smokers who try to justify their smoking by saying "people die every day" are beyond stupid. |

I do, I assure you.
Let me refresh your memory - I said that non-smokers die every day. You then pointed out that "Oh, but rarely from lung cancer", as if that somehow negates the fact that people die.
If it's not from lung cancer, it's something else.
Once you work out the fact that you're born into a losing struggle, you won't care much for statistics.
Although sometimes it feels like I'm going to expire from sheer advice . |

Yes, my awareness that everybody does in fact die at some point in their lives makes me desperately want to engage in an activity that will most likely shave 10+ years off my lifetime. Your logic is astounding. You're going to die anyways, so you might as well die sooner and much more painfully!
Take a step back and realize that what you're saying is not logical. It's your mind's way of attempting to justify killing yourself. I don't care if you want to die that way, but spreading that kind of sordid stupidity around is shameful. |

| I love how people try to justify smoking cigarettes. There is no justification. It's a repulsive, disgusting habit that does nothing but wreak havoc on your own organs and bothers everyone else around you. The smell is sickening. |
