Wow... I decided to ditch Amazon and turn to bodybuilding.com for nutritional supplements. And I still got this:
Subtotal: U$58.94
Shipping: U$38.56
Total: U$97.50
And that's not the worst: I may pay up to 70% of taxes again here in Brazil, which means there's a good chance I'll pay U$ 165.75 for something that cost me U$ 58.94 in the US... and, if you think that's bad, these same products would cost me roughly U$ 242 if I bought them in a Brazilian shop.
I hate this place with a passion sometimes.

Try ebay man, its super-reliable these days since most of the sellers on there are basically shops-- Use paypal and you're insured too if anything did go wrong, (which it hasn't for me in like 8 years anyway)--
You can often get around a lot of shipping costs since its a more competitive marketplace than places like amazon etc.
I've found a number of times actual online stores which have ebay stores who have the exact same product but with lower item or shipping costs :)

Just had a pretty LOL conversation with my diagonal neighbor up the back here, who I've never met before. They had some huge trees in their back yard cut down about two weeks ago, lots of chainsaws, etc.
Se saw me and said happy new year, and I said the same back. He apologised for all the noise for a couple of days, while they were getting rid of the trees, and I said "no probs mate".
I asked why they took out the trees, and he said "The house was in a shadow from them all day, and we want to put in solar panels on our roof, so we can save heaps off our electricity bill. We're really into green energy".
:wtf:
Apparently the solar panels will save him $5000 over the next few years, but he paid nearly $8000 to have the trees removed :stongue:
:stongue: i hate like that ... you try to do your part and be "green" or whatever, but the investment NEVER pays off for you. really, it'll pay off for the next person who buys the place from him. i'd totally buy a house with solar panels, that'd be awesome, but i'd never fork over the cash to have them installed myself .
VAR
i would rather have trees.

I used to think so, but now I'm not a fan of trees for two reasons:
1) while living in Louisiana, I had a house that was surrounded by neighbors who had pecan trees. in fact, the whole neighborhood was pecan trees. these bastards would get water logged and then on a nice summer day, would just topple over for no ing reason other than gravity. either they would land on houses, power lines, or both :(
2) here in oklahoma, i have two trees in my front yard. because of the drought we had, the roots are now coming above ground trying to find any water available. i'm worried about my houses' foundation now because of the close proximity to the tree :/

I don't think some of you realise just how many trees we tend to have in the suburbs around here. We had two massive trees removed last year around our house, best decision ever.

Why do you hate nature!? I can't bear it... and bears are so much fun :D

growing up my entire neighborhood had trees that were planted in like the 40s-70s. we had a massive oak tree in our front yard that we were always scared it was going to come down in a storm and hit the house. never did though.
