That's awesome, by the way. You get quite the adrenaline rush AND the chance to help people. Win-win. |
87, I'm not that old! :haha: |

I lol'd.
I'm considering going veggie for a while, want to try a type of eating pattern where meat isn't good to see if it'll fix my overly acid insides. Looks like rabbit food for now

| Do you eat yoghurt? Have some each night after dinner. |

| I don't. I'm very fussy on dairy, I can do milk (2%/semi skimmed) but I'm very particular even on cheese as to what I like. So far i'm mostly having a good oatmeal breakfast (got 2 delicious flavours) a salad sandwich + side salad (which that is) for lunch and then for dinner meat + veggies. Going to look into grains like Risottos, Teff, Amaranth, Buckwheat etc & soups such as my favourite, minestrone. Big fan of masterchef australia too (just to the top 10 of the 2nd season now) esp the masterclass and going to make georges baked beans soon but not add the feta to them. |

I started eating a few vegetarian meals a week last year, and it's definitely improved my health mentally and physically, but I'm not going to cut out meat completely. It's too tasty. :p |

Are you lactose intolerant? Yoghurt doesn't have any or very minimal amounts, that's how it becomes yoghurt in part. The lactose is broken down.
You should start eating it, that will neutralise your insides and repopulate your intestines with good bacteria. |

^ Academic publishing conglomerates are ty. There is a protest movement against Elsevier going on now, started by mathematician Tim Gowers. So far thousands of academics have signed a pledge not to write, referee, or edit for their journals anymore:

that's my long-term plan. I love meat so much, especially Lamb. Lamb is awesome. But so is Bison, Turkey, Ostrich, Chicken, Pork, Beef... Nom. |

Saw it a few days ago, and fully support it... this rebellion has been gaining momentum for some time now. I remember there were quite a few protests on the Guardian last year, but I wish these guys from Elsevier were the only bastards in this field.
There are things I truly cannot understand. Take this book on linguistic rarities as an example: these researchers are already paid by their respective governments and institutions to write articles and book chapters. Sure, the publishing house needs to pay a rather large staff, from cover designers to printers... but how can this book cost 150 dollars?! And this is among the cheapest one - there are some that cost twice as much... and I remember seeing a book that cost 600 dollars.
How?! Why!? |
