hammer curls or reverse curls work better

I take it in the morning with breakfest, straight after a work-out and then before bed with low fat milk.

preacher curls or incline curls. The muscle is short due to not enough of a full motion. Need to stretch it out

....i make sure i extend all the way too
Orbax
extending all the way is nice but on something like an incline curl your arms hang much farther back and really stretches them.

If youre using too much weight you will be tending towards cheating and the first part of the motion is what builds that section

Its important as well to get your short bicep head active and flexed (the inner bicep) this is accomplished by reverse curls or hammer curls. While a regular bicep curl will target both heads sometimes if you notice a gap its better to isolate the short head to create the desired building.

Full motion is essential.

this article here says that if you can reduce shoulder flexion in your bicep curls (i guess not doing raised bicep curls where your arm is raised to be close to perpendicular to your torso) you can increase activation of both bicep heads.

http://www.exrx.net/Muscles/BicepsBrachii.html (under comments first paragraph)

so in summary

1) full motion
2)try not to have your shoulders flexed when you do your curl as it puts less strain on your inner bicep head
3) if your already noticing a big gap try doing more hammer curls or reverse curls to put more strain on the inner bicep head rather then the outer

in my experience hammer curls target the outer head of the bicep, are you sure that info is reliable? cuz for years i've been reading otherwise :conf:

The shape of the bicep also depends a lot on your genetic structure... some people just have short biceps and a few sets of hammer curls or whatever won't make your muscles miraculously longer. Just concenrate on getting your guns bigger and make sure you use the full range of motion as mentioned by Orbax & Nrg2Nfinit.
