thanks, I will definately take this into consideration when I start going to the gym.
And yeah, kayaking does kill. But I like it because I can get a sweet tan, and get in shape at the same time.
The worst is when you catch the currents at the wrong time and you go against it, when you go out AND come back in (I'm an ocean kayaker). |

| :stongue: Yes, definately the most difficult I've ever attempted. I had never known what it was, and rented one on a whim, thinking it would be fun, different, casual rowing. HAH! Worst float trip EVER and it was on a dinky, shallow Niagua (sp?) River here in Missouri. Somehow on a shallow, muddy 2 feet I'd managed to flip. :wtf: My back, my arms, gawd, don't get me started, not to mention everyone passing me as I'm sulking and spinning. Never, ever again. I couldn't imagine going against the current of an ocean, I already feel tired and reminded of how much I loathe kayaking. :stongue: You're crazy. |

| I need your help again. I've started to workout again but this time I want to do it without protein drinks, because they are expensive. can I build up muscles also without them? I do 2 hours of exercises every 2nd day, and I eat every day meat. so what do you think? |

Yes, you can build up muscles without them, no problem. Protein shakes are simply a convenience; for every protein shake you used to drink, now substitute a high-quality protein food. You should be fine. |

Without a proper diet, he will not gain mass by lifting weights. You do not need protein shakes but you do need protein if you want to gain muscle mass.
beef, chicken, fish, chick peas, brown rice, baked beans, tofu, cow's milk, lentils, soy milk, muesli, eggs, peanuts, hard cheeses - these are all good sources of protein.
If you're serious about gaining muscle mass, eat at least 1gram of protein per pound of body weight. Distribute your protein intake across 5 or 6 meals per day.
You also need to workout hard for any of that to matter, proper form, high intensity and a good workout partner will help a lot.
Also, don't forget to eat some good carbs (brown rice, whole wheat) and get some good fat in your diet otherwise your workout binge will be dead in about a week. |

The only thing you left out is that one should watch 'Pumping Iron' prior to each individual workout. And yes, that means watching it twice if you are doing two-a-days. |

dude, i got that dvd 1 week ago; i had forgotten how inspirational it is. a lot of the drama was scripted but to see those guys working as hard as they did reminds me to not be a gabby bitch when I'm in the gym.
i'm still not up to doing two-a-days. maybe this summer! |

pumping iron is mondo rad.
today:
Incline Bench:
1x12 135
1x10 185
1x8 225
1x15 135
Seated Close Grip Rows:
1x12 150
1x12 165
1x10 180
1x15 135
Incline Dumbell Bench:
1x12 50
1x12 60
1x10 70
Close Grip Pullups
3x12
Barbell shrugs:
4x12 140
Standing Calf Raises:
1x12 195
1x10 215
2x10 235
edit forgot this:
Cable thing that works upper chest...hard to explain. But you set handles at lowest point, put to 40 lbs and then bring in an "L" motion into hips and then straight up:
4x12
then whatever those things are that you lift a barbell up to your neck are:
4x12 smith 45s
