My personal trainer said he always took it after >.<

There are two schools of thought on when to take it and, so far, I've never seen definitive evidence as to which is better.

1. Take it an hour before as it takes about an hour to absorb into your bloodstream and be available for your workout.

2. Take it immediately after the workout as that is the best time to replensih the stores that were spent during the workout.

Consequently, I take about 5 grams pre and 5 grams post. That way, I feel that both my bases are covered.

yeah number 2 is usually the best option

So, without you there it would just be 16 Hour Fitness. ;)

I used to workout at a 24 in Dallas. It was a great club! Now, I just joined an L.A. Fitness here near Philly and it's very similar. I missed the big-gym atmosphere while I was working out at this local family club.

i've always mostly been an at home kinda person and i had built a pretty decent home gym over the years, but looking forward to getting some good presses and squat rack access so i don't have to fear for my life everytime i do legs haha :p

Hi there!

I need your opinions and here is the situation: I'm 23 years old and I weigh 50 kilos (110 lbs), I'm 1m68 tall (roughly 5'6 I think). You got it, I'm of a very small constitution. I eat very healthy and in normal quantity but I never get weight.

I intend to go to the gym this year to get a bit bigger. I would like to develop my arms, my shoulders and my chest mainly.

I would like to know if it's going to be effective. I won't be able to go more than once to twice a week I think btw.

So what do you think? Am I gonna waste my time in that gym? I don't plan to become muscle-man but I just want to look less thin and keep myself in shape in the same time :p

i was 6 foot 1 and weighed 135 so was just as skinny as you. I am now 175 lbs. slabbing on 40 lbs of pure muscle takes time, but if youre dedicated you could see HUGE results in a few months.

the idea is that your body responds to be pushed. Right now you dont push it at all so when you hit it hard it will respond massively.

the changes get smaller and smaller as time goes on, but for now youll see a lot of results. Your biggest goal is going to be not to under eat. Thats what held me back for YEARS*******

youre gonna mess yourself up if you are afraid of body fat. Its easy to lose, as evidenced by you being that skinny. fat is fuel, so you want it for a good work out.

Working out hard is easy....just ing do it. Eating is the part where everyone pusses out. They want to stay lean not get fat. they say its too expensive bla bla.

If you want to gain weight, work out, eat a lot. we can give you routines and diets, but if you dont eat right youll just gain a few a pounds, look a bit better, and nothing much will come of it. Youll lose motivation and stop working out again.

So either get ready to be committed or be a sissy girl child!

wow, very similiar stats to what i was when starting out. Same height but i was 56 kilos. Memeber of a gym since january last year. However i only went until May of last year then went very rarely for about a year. Start again this June. Still managed to put on 20kgs(44lbs). So you definitly should be able to add extra weight on.

Obviously going to a gym once a week wouldnt be as effective. howver it is still definitly worth it, but results will just take longer.

Even if you could it twice it would make a massive difference. At a rough guess you will need to eat about 250grams of carbs and protein and day, maybe even more carbs. Need to eat some good fats aswell.

Start eating 6 meals a day, dont just have 3 big meals. Set up an account on www.fitday.com . Enter everything you eat and see if you are eating enough, very hady resource. Its free aswell if your wondering.

For a weights routine i would recommend 4 compound excercises each session. Deadlifts, Squats, Bench and the clean and jerk.

These excercises will work pretty much every major muscle group. This is the best way to train when you only have a limited number of days.

Any other questions just ask away
Ygrene
Also, eat at least 3 Dairy Queen Blizzards everyday. You will be massive in NO time.
