i have a quick question. I'm about to go to the gym to work out but I haven't had anything to eat today. It's 11:40am, I woke up at 8:30am, took a shower, then went straight to work. I didnt' have time to grab breakfast. And I want to go work out during my lunch break, at the gym at work. But since I haven't had anything to eat, should I snack on something right before? Or is it bad to eat right before a workout.

I know I should eat a full healthy lunch after the workout to put protein into my system. Just don't know what to eat (if anything) before the workout.

I couldn't imagine working out with food in my stomach. That's me personally, I mean some people would say a light carb'd snack might work, I think ultimately it's all preference. Your body should be able to sustain a workout as long as you stay fully hydrated. I would imagine a high protein meal after the work out would be much more rewarding than snacking early and eating light after.

Remember - WATER IS A MUST!

I refuse to workout if I havent had a meal that day. No energy...just feels weak and useless.

at the least its some prunes and an egg.

yeah that's what i figured. I went ahead and got some soup and a fully loaded chicken salad. Gonna give it 2 hours to digest and then hit the weights.

just got back from the gym. On the way back to work, I stopped by the fruit stand and got myself a shake. I told the guy to put protein and creatine in it too ... and it was the first time I ever consumed such 'supplements' after a workout. The shake was banana, beet, carrot, and orange. DAAAAAMN it was ing good!!! I don't know if it was the creatine/protein or the actual fruit, but wow that shake was fukin amazing. I think I'm gonna get into supplements now :nervous:

you're setting him up to either have his hopes destroyed or his wallet empty! lol

once you start learning to make them on your own and you've been drinking them for a while, haha, you'll learn how TY they taste! good luck man, i've been drinking protein for about 1.5yrs now and believe me when i say this, there comes a point when it's just disgusting HAHAHA (ie: blue at the bottom of your shake! wtf is that lol)

i kinda started to enjoy the bland taste of food after awhile. you just have to play little mind games with yourself hahha...like just think about how clean and perfect everything you eat is. hahaha...
