oh and if your not eating enough (and enough of the right foods) you will see limited results.
the diet is where the majority of lifters are misinformed. Junk food needs to be limited (ya a candybar has CALORIES-lifters favorite word-but it has the wrong kind.
Protein, protein, protein, and carbs are where the diet should be at.
Chicken, beef, and eggs should be your next best friend behind trance.
And when your full, eat more |

Working out each muscle 1 day per week ( as your 3 days/week plan suggests) will not do the job. I have seen great improvement in my strength by doing the Arnold workout, which can be read in his weightlifting book.
In short,
day 1- Chest, tricepts
day 2-back, shoulders, bicepts
day 3-rest or legs if your extreme (but i enjoy the day off)
repeat
this comes out to working out 5 days/week.
ALso if you really want improvement you MUST workout with a partner, because any true lifter will tell you the 3 or 4 reps after your muscles stop working each set (which can only be accomplished with a spotter of course) will do so much more than the first 4/6/8 that you get by yourself.
Personally, if my buddy cannot workout that day I take it off because i consider an individual day a waste. |
Not necessarily true, not all routines work for everyone. That routine your talking about is not for someone how has never lifted weights in his life unless he is supplementing heavily or on juice. And on the working out with a partner, yes and no. Yes, working out with a parnter and doing drops/beyond failure works and helps to get out off plateaus but it is not THE only way to get improvements. I've been working out for abt 3 years now, and for about 1 1/2 i've been going solo, with good results. And a little tip, going beyond failure constantly without changing the routine/resting will destroy your joints. I've had plenty of friends with shoulder/elbow problems when we were doing beyond failure for 3 months straight. |

Random Note:
Be courteous in the gym. I had a dude steal my machine yesterday and then he got ty when I politely asked if I could work in with him.
I swear I'll kick an old person. |

When people start to talk disrespectfully to me in the gym (and typically for the exact same reason you just mentioned) for no good reason, I just ask them to find a better way to talk to me, I was being courteous to you, I ask you to do the same. Every single time they’ve felt bad and either apologized or they gave me a litany as to why they spoke like they did. I have yet to run into some guy who is just a straight up . Not sure what will happen then, I’ll probably find a different machine. Once you’re over 18 fighting is ing stupid hehe. That or I’ll find an old person and get them in a full nelson and tell them to squeal like a pig. |

some ****** asked to work in with me last time....and I was trying not to puke cuz it was legs day
I politely got up and he sat down and took his head phones off and said DO YOU SEE THIS
and pointed at this little sign that said "please dont occupy the machines between sets"
when if I had stood up like 15 seconds earlier I woulda puked
so I glare at him like ima kick his fa*got ass and he says "Im a circuit trainer im in out in out real fast" and snaps his fingers as hes talking.
then he puts the weight down to no like 15 lbs (I was doing 200) and goes TSSSS TSSSS TSSS and does a set of 15 and then get up
he tried to come back but I lowered the weight to 140 so I could do infinite reps until he left the area.
edit: and he was ing fat and wearing a teal spandex shirt with the arms off. AHHHH I HATE HIM |

You never quite believe the rumor about naked old people with shriveled genitals in the gym until you go to the gym locker room and see the naked old people with shriveled genitals walking around.
Today I did a personal best. 230x2 on bench. That calculates to about 245 1RM if i'm thinking right. My previous best was 230x1. I think those extra reps at 230, 240, and 250 on the smith machine i've been doing lately helped. Excelsior! |

I've found that chicken, beef, eggs, AND candybar work quite nicely. |

That's what I'm doing, but it's really bizarre.
I guess it's becuase the fat is being replaced by muscles or something, and it's all "firm" now :/
I'm thinking of doing some push ups, but the last time I did this, I ended up with a back ache. |
