I'll have to jimmy-rig something to take a decent shot of the calves but they're doing well. I did legs yesterday ^.^
How are you doing? I recall you were starting up a diet a couple months back. |

hahhaa @ lolololol :p
i'm doing good. that diet that i had posted i kinda ended up scratching to go ahead and just try to eat normal food. i'm taking in about 15% less than my bmr. lots of preperation time, but it's not bad at all. i've dropped about 15 lbs in the last month...haven't been doing too much lifting yet because i just wanted to get that excess body fat gone...i'm on a six month plan at the moment...hoping by the end of march i'll be wear i want to be... |

nice! but...now is the time to make use of excess body fat and turn it into muscle (or use the energy from it to have good workouts and create muscle). This is the absolute best time for you to be hitting the gym. Once you lean down your progress slows considerably :/
You should go out and buy some NO Xplode, multi-vitamins, protein powder and some creatine and have crazy workouts. You've been putting it off for long enough! |

Fat does not turn into muscle... Its a popular misconception that tons of people have. And it sounds damn funny when someone says it :>

So fat people have no advantage over people with lower bodyfat as far as "gaining" muscle. |

that is why i elaborated within the parentheses. extra fat on your body absolutely helps with energy recovery time giving one the ability to work out more frequently with more intensity which will build more muscle.
There is a reason all bodybuilders bulk up significantly to prepare for their competitions. |

Luckily shoulders are one of the easiest muscle groups to build. What do you do currently? What are your current muscle group splits? |

I pretty much workout each muscle group per workout. And for shoulders I usually do dumbell presses, lateral raises, front raises, arnold presses, and sometimes I use cables. But I'm looking for a routine that will really kick my ass because I'm sick of having small shoulders. I'll workout my shoulders tomorrow. |

My favorite shoulder exercise: clean and press. Just works the entire shoulder girdle and does wonders for upper-body strength.
It is kind of an advanced movement though, so if you haven't done it previously, I would reccomend practice with only the bar and then very light weights until you are completely comfortable with the movement. The nice thing about this exercise is that you can start off with very strict form, utilizing more a s abodybuilding exercise and then, as you progress up in wieght, you can turn the exercise more into a power movement and use your legs a bit more and it's still realtively safe.
Pardon me for grammar and spelling, I've had a few glasses of wine. |
