oh plus i dance every weekend for atleast 4-6 hours each night and that is some of the best exercise any one person can get ;)

this is true yoga is perfect for doing so. It will aslo drastically increase your flexibility. Elongating your muscles can be beneficial in conjunction with resistance training as you will increase teh surface area available for yoru muscles to grow.

im on the gas again doing creatine.

my weight has increased from 137 to 147 in a matter of 2 weeks. 150 doesnt seem so far away now. Hopefully this mass will be retained as i am also taking protein and carb drinks.

Also I am lowering the amount of sets per excercise in order to experiment with ideal size growth. Total of 20 sets per workout (including warmup)

so this would run at about 2 or 3 sets per excercise with about 8 or 7 excercises.

Strength increases from the creatine are up to about 10% more per excercise.

Hey dudes, quick question.

Is it a smart idea / beneficial to work abs/obliques every day, or, like all other muscle groups, should I be giving them a rest. I can't remember more than 5 day in the last 2-3 months I haven't worked my abs out.

Thanks for the info! :D

hitchhiker: ok you heard of 8-minute abs?
yeah, well this is going to blow that right out of the water. listen to this: 7... Minute... Abs.

ted: Right. Yes. OK, alright. I see where you're going.

hitchhiker: Think about it. You walk into a video store, you see 8-Minute Abs sittin' there, there's 7-Minute Abs right beside it. Which one are you gonna pick, man?

ted: well, 7 minute abs. Unless, of course, somebody comes up with 6-Minute Abs. Then you're in trouble, huh?

hitchhiker: No! No, no, not 6! I said 7. Nobody's comin' up with 6. Who works out in 6 minutes? You won't even get your heart goin, not even a mouse on a wheel.

sorry i had to, first thing i thought of

I do abs 5 days/week but, it's relatively low intensity. More or less just to maintain tone.

If you are doing them to the point where they are sore after every workout, I would at least wait until they're not sore before you exercise them again.

Ok, some Q's.

Which is better for you? As far as releasing toxins, cleaning out pores; the sauna or stream room?

Also, I've resorted to the Eliptical (sp?) machine vs. running. I burn sooo many more calories, or at least it says so on the monitor. For example today, at a 150-160 pace for 40 minutes, I burned 401.2 calories. How accurate are these machines? It seems that if I'm on a treadmill for 40 min I only burn HALF as much. What are your opinions on this machine?

If I'm wanting to get as lean and hard as a say a Miniture Pinscher, should I resort to protein shakes or are they mainly for bulk & mass?

Tsank you.

They aren't really sore at all anymore. My obliques have been flaming up a bit because I've been using 45s now instead of 25s in doing extensions, but I do like 4-500 various crunches a day and don't ever get sore.

Change your routine up.
Get a partner.
Go to a new gym.
Buy some kick-ass shoes to wear.
Write a goal down on paper.

I dunno man, what are your goals?

You might be overworking them, if your abs are built to the point where you like them I would reccomend cutting back a little bit. You could just do a daily maintenance routine and keep what you have.

All I do for mine are:

3 x 23 crunches (with good squeezing form)
3 x 15 hanging leg raises

and that's all. Nice easy maintenance.

Maybe I'll start that off next week. I'm taking this weekend off as I'll be up in Green Bay watching the UW-OSU hockey game @ Lambeau Field :D

Is that the technical name? :p

I really like doing these, but the damn contraption in our weight room at school is huge and tall and I have to climb up the thing like a monkey because Im too short to just hop, and usually the other 15 people in the weight room stop what theyre doing to watch. Its worth it tho, I guess. :happy2:
