| I find it incredibly difficult to put on weight. The only ever time I put on muscle is when I work out a particular area over and over again. Hence the big arms but no increase in other areas, which imo looks a little silly. |

working out is basically just math. your metabolism might be fast, but you can still put on weight...you just need to figure out where you're at...where you want to get...and then just adjust your training accordingly. you might have to eat more than other people or something, but you can look anyway that you want...
if you're not noticing size gains on areas, well you're either not giving enough time to allow change or you're not training efficiently. some muscle groups respond quicker than others. i remember when i started working out...i stopped working arms and traps because they responded a lot quicker than other areas for me. if you want a particular muscle group to see more results, well...just simply train it more frequently. personally i'm focusing on back and leg a lot these days because i think those are weak areas... so i adjusted my training to accomidate those goals. you can do the same thing. |

arms need little to no work until youve gotten all the other stuff going.
try this
Chest back:
Incline barbell (1x12 warmup @ 135, 3x10 @ 185, 1x12 @ 135)
close grip pullups (4x12)
incline dumbell flys (1x10 w/ 50s. 2x10 w/ 60s. 1x10 w/ 70s)
Smith Machine shoulder shrugs (1x12 @ 90, 3x12 @ 160, 1x15 @ 90)
Flat dumbell flys (3x10 w/ 50s)
close grip pullups (4x12)
Legs:
Free squats (1x12 @ 135, 3x10 185, 1x12 @ 135)
Hamstring curls (1x10 @ 140, 2x8 @ 165, strip set doing as many 140s,120s, and 100s in a row. So like 8 w/140 drop weight to 120 ASAP and then do anouther 4 and drop it again etc...)
leg extensions (1x12 180, 2x10 260, 1x12 200)
seated calf extensions (4x12 270)
hamstring curls (3x12 240)
Floater day:
this day alternates between biceps/triceps and shoulders. |

no, limit your workouts to 2-3 times / week. Increase your intensity as you progress but working out 5 or 6 times per week will only result in injury and a loss of motivation.
Rest and eating right are just as important as the workouts themselves. Without that balance (or the use of steroids) you will not attain the gains you want.
Your muscles grow while you're resting, not during the workout. So give them 1 or 2 days rest at first then decrease your off days as dictated by your body. Make sure your diet is in order and try to get good rest at night. |

if you're trying to ease back into it...i don't think there is a problem with going many consecutive days in a row, but the only thing i would do is maybe tone down your workouts the first couple of times. the biggest problems i had getting back into any type of routine was trying to do it full blown and ended up paralyzed with soreness the next week...and before you know it, crap you're off your program and not working out again. |
