Shoulder is worst place you can injure yourself. Thats what I did & it kept giving way when I trained chest, shoulders or even biceps. It basically rips from my delt towards the nipple on my pec. Eventually had keyhole surgery & extensive physio but its never been the same since - my chest will sometimes take a decent weight but sometimes it will give way even on light weights. These days I can tell when it's gonna go so I know when to back off but I can't go mad on chest excercises any more. Once warmed up I can do still go mad on shoulders though :)

Moral of the story - take it steady!! ;) If you tear muscle tissue try to gently stretch the muscle as it heals as it helps stop the muscle fibres grow back nicely & prevent scar tissue forming within the muscle itself.

Tomorrow I'm hitting chest and back like a bastard, it's going to be awesomely painful.

I've been slacking a bit lately :(

Slack happens to the best of us man...believe me I know. :(

Today I picked up the pace. 20 situps while listening to Yoji Biomehanika @ KoolHaus, Toronto 5-6-06 :eyespop:, along with 55 minutes on the treadmill while watching an episode of Buffy, then 20 leg lifts. The leg lifts and situps are so KILLER on the stomach...It'd been so long since I done them the cramps in my stomach came back right away.

I've started working out recently and my main goal is to gain muscle mass
Im 6'0 in height and weighed in at about 145 when i first started, (im at 155 now)
My question is, when doing standing shoulder presses with a barbell, whats the difference in letting the bar down in front of you vs in back of your neck?
Is one exercise better than the other? or do they target different muscles?
dj_kane
behind the neck targets your lats whereas the front targets the deltoids.
Vitz
Alright thanks, I guess I'll stick with the front raises, I'll leave pull-ups/chin-ups for the lats

Staying on topic, yesterday I did a record 2 hours and 25 minutes on the treadmill. One liveset and 2 Buffy episodes later and I was done. How my legs are still functional is way beyond me.

Orbax
are you walking on incline?
butterfly
how fast?

i mean, i don't think it is crazy to walk for over 2 hours. maybe it's a little boring on a treadmill...
