Thats why i always cardio after my workout. Though i don't go beyond 15 mins. I prefer the cross thing.
During the weightlifting and stuff, your opening many fat cells, so after your workout just cardio a tiny bit to burn that little more.
Works for me so far. |

| I really want to build abs and get a nice-straight figure on chest and arms,back.. I go to the gym about twice a week and 3 when I get the chance ( school and work are a sucker in time ).. I try to get into spinning class for 1 hour weekly. I do about 2-3 sets for arm-back workout generally. I barely do any abs workout, so what is recommended and effective? thank you guys.. |

I'd say best bet is to go for a routine which focuses mainly on upper body, or in other words, keep all your legs and other non-ctrical things to those few weeks when u CAN afford to go 3 times :)
..Or maybe just go for a full body workout isntead of a split lol - if u do this just make sure you FAIL and FAIL GOOD on all your sets, cause u dont get a second chance :P
CLICK HERE FOR FB WORKOUT ^_^
For abs, do decline crunches (weighted if u want), paralell bar knee lifts or leg lifts (lower abs), and also decline oblique crunches. U gotta work out what type of mid section you ahve, your obliques will get worked indirectly by most normal ab excercises, but if you want to build them up a bit, do oblique crunches, side bends, lateral bridges, etc. But, if you're like me and have naturally large obliques, DONT EXCERCISE THEM DIRECTLY, or it will hide your innercoastals (sp?), give u a big waist, and just look like poo. :p
Also if your abs are pocking out a bit too much, do stomach vacuums to bring them back in so u have a kick ass little ripped profile ^.^
Take a look at the hugo riviera article i posted a few pages back, its ABSolutely insane, and you can do all of it at home :)
Or, if you cbf that, try this for a few weeks
2 sets to FAILURE on each one (no being a baby)
Day 1
- Decline crunches (from 180 degrees all the way up)
- Parallel bar knee raises
- 1 set parallel bar leg lifts (its the same as a knee raise but u keep your legs straight - alot harder - also try with a db between your feet)
Day 2
- Decline oblique crunches
- Knee raises
- 1 set Leg lifts
And, crap people, i don't know everything but wtf is with everyone doing cardio after weights? are you TRYING to limit your gains or what?! Cut OR bulk! you can't do both at the same time (you can but it will take 11ty times longer and is just plain silly) :conf:
Also, more than 1.5 hours at the gym? WHY?! That might be ok if you're on the juice (probably not even then) but after your first hour your gains drop dramatically from cortisol and :| |

i want to share my dieting ...
on august 29, i was 183 pounds.
on september 4, i was 175 pounds.
on september 6, i was 173 pounds.
how did i do that ? i call it the "hurricane katrina let's go castaway tom hanks" diet .. forget the south beach diet .. forget the atkins diet .. forget the 3 apples a day diet .. this diet is the way to go !
my daily diet :
breakfast : army meal pack ( usually contained crackers and a carrot cake .. i threw away the beans and sauce stuff); cup of coffee and a cup of orange juice
lunch : a banana, corn on cob, and a bottle of water
dinner : a good bunch of rice with spam and bottle of water
and for exercise, sweat till you drop .. pick up fences .. pick up tree branches .. dig holes .. and drink lots of water .. :wtf: ..
hahahhahahahha ..
but i have been meaning to drop my weight for awhile, but was too lazy to commit to drop below 180 .. i don't really consider myself fat, because i can still fit into 33/34 pants .. i guess you can say semi to borderline fat .. hahhahahahha ...
but it's cool now, because i can easily run my 2 miles a day streteches now, and hitting the weight room now .. hopefully i can give you results of what i am currently doing .. |

Decreasing your fat percentage is the first priority i think.
Also, if you wanne build your body, yout going to need to go 3 times a week at least with intense weight training.
Also i suggest doing your abs at home daily , just 5-10 mins before sleeping. |

If you want to eat more, you must use a protein shake. Most protein shakes, not only give you proteins but as a matter of fact do make you eat more. That's what I've at least observed from my work out experience. Do not get into supplements such as creatine. All of these supplements are carb related and you can eat natural carbs from vegetables & fruits. You want to gain weight than you must have a high carb/high protein/high nutrietional diet :) |
supplements explained:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree on the protein shakes. The more you eat the bigger you get.
Your body off steroids (hopefully) can absorve up to 25-30 G of protein every
hour-hour 1/2.
That means ,even if you eat a huge portion of hi protein foods, thats all you body can absorve for that hour.
Liquid shakes are perfectly balanced and loaded with amino acids/vitamins to help you absorve the protein and build muscle.
You can theoreticly get the same results from food
but ''in the real world'' (god I in hate that word) It just doesn't happen.
Eat them next to your solid meals dont replace the meals with them (unless you are on a diet).
They come in various flavors and are the easy and convinient alternative to spending all day cooking.
The more protein you eat in a day ->
the more mustle you build ->
the faster you metabolism gets.
Thats why you also loose fat and look healthy when on a hi protein diet.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Creatine is different thing its a performance supplement meaning it helps you get
a better more intense workout. You do gain about 3 kilos of weight the first 10 days but its all water, its not the kind of weight you are after, its more of a side affect
you settle for if you want to ''lift more wait'' ''do more reps'' ect.
there are two types:
- The stuff that really works has sugar.
cell tech... ect. the sugar helps you body absorve the creatine because the insuline levels
are higher once you eat carbs especially ''fast'' carbs like sugar.
It requires a load period 4-5 days you double the ammount to laod your body with it.
BEWARE this stuff has sugar ,so only use when on a really lowfat diet.
Take regular periods of it because not only its harsh on your livor its stops working after a period of time
-The stuff that ''helps''
Pure ''creatine monohudrate'' is just creatine. You take a teaspoon and mix it with
water or even better orange juice.
-liquid creatine.
this is a great way to waste 50$. This doesnt require loading
and simply put it doesnt work. This is just placebo for bodybuilders
marketed upon to believe they can use creatine while cutting down.
It comes in tiny slim colored bottles.
-------------------------------------------------------------
aminoacids
They are worth the purchase .
Thats protein in a different form-stage that helps you make protein out of the protein you
get from food or supplements. I dont want to get into further details because
its going to get really ,really, really boring.
I only have to say this: THEY TASTE LIKE !
--------------------------------------------------------------
HMV
This stuff basicly helps your body recover faster then it would normally.
Use it if you re a gum freak ,hidding from life in the gum all ddaaaaaaay looong.
running on trend mills ,doing spinning classes, lifting weights 2 times a day, training for marathons ,you get the idea.
---------------------------------------------------------------
GLUTAMINE
This prevents your body (up to a cetain point ) to burn down you muscle as energy to recover. Most protein shakes include it so you dont need the extra supplement.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------------
FOOD EXPLAINED
You are what you eat. Although I generally hate talking in ''clishes'' English is
my second language so I will have to resort to them in my effort to make sense.
1. PROTEIN :
see above.
-------------------------------------------------
2. CARBS :
Carbs are energy. Energy you need to live/walk/think produce ''work'' on.
there are 2 types:
-Fast carbs :
the processing by your body is faster which means that
if in that short period of time the energy spent is < than the energy
consumned the remaining energy is stored as fat.
-Slow carbs
the time factor changes to a slower processing time leaving your body with enough time
to hopefully use the carbs as energy.
-----------------------
When taken in exessive amounts your body will not have enought time to break em down and unlike protein they will be absorved at huge amounts and will be stored as fat. Over exxess of Carbohudrate makes people fat, not dietery fat.
When taken in huge amounts humans insuline levels go sky high
and the fealing of dizzyness, lazyness and drawzyness is introduced followed by Depression and melancholy,
feelings that overweght/obese people are addicted on .
Its that ''addiction'' overwait/obese people have to UNDERSTAND
and OVERCOME to loose wait.
Being in that cycle it feals almost imposible to get out not to mention your identity evolves around your weight .
If you is you - and you is fat , you NOT fat is not you anymore.
For the third observer this dont make any sense.
Overweight people are often viewed as weak.
People are either rude to them or there are nice to them but not in a "I am a nice person" way ,more like in a pretentious "I want to feel better about my self by treating you nice" way.
-----------------
-eat carbs with carbs
-eat carbs with protein .
-Never eat carbs combined with fat as you will store it and look unattractive
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
FIBER
fiber is not digested .
It simply runs through your body and helps your body
absorve the other while doing so.
You need 20- 35 g of fiber a day
for a healty diet. That is 6-7 hole bags of lettuce.
Best sourse of fiber I know is the motherin ''dr. actins'' serial
Its expensive, It tastes like chunk ''It sticks to the rouf of you tonque ...LITERALLY!''
but It has 30 g of fiber in two cups.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
FAT .
FAT is energy in a different format.
It is very important to include fat in our nutrition.
Its slower energy we use when walkin, sleaping ect..
-healthy fat :
Fat that can be broken down as energy.
-Bad fat aka TRANS fat
Cannot be broken down as energy will be stored as fat.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anybody you desides to start using should know that they will be fighting
their -- anger and --depresion and will have to function going through
mood changes and paranoia.
This will have a terrible effect at their self esteem and at the
relationships with the people around them.
This is not a risk its a fact!
Steroids
are used by:
-People who make a living by performing sports
Ambitious Gifted people who put nothing between Them and recognition in the field,
in the form of medals throphys titles ect.
They are dangerously one-minded usually not very bright and are the perfect mascot for the multimilliondollar sports industries (NIKE, REEBOK ECT...) to push their
shoes ,clothes watches by product placement and product endorsment.
They make their products at thirld world countrys for dirtcheap enslaving
young ,hungry kids ,
Market their stuff through the modern sports you see on TV
and finally sell their stuff for a lot of money
at middle class people at the ''malls'' around the world
, making them believe they are worth the money ,
By using those bright idols to wear the gear-clothes.
They pay them fortunes to wear their clothes kinda like sony pays somebody lke carlcox
to wear ''sony'' cans in front of thousants of people.
Despite the dosens of doctors ,nutritionists and health proffessionals looking
after them they die, filthy ritch at a very young age.
-Wanna be athlets
Like the above but without the prerequasite talent/skills/determination.
they usually give up after their dreams are crashed
and change substanses for alcohol and drugs
and are usually sad people that beat their wifes up and treat their children like .
- Actors- movie stars- singers -pornstars- models good looking people
that make a living by well looking good.
They use substanses given to them by their personal trainers to make the look riped,
muscular and attractive to women.
Steroids are not abused by them ,because they are not competing with each other
in the same way athlets compete.
-Insecure people.
Normal everyday people of every class all around the world that have
the ''adonis''/''superman'' complex
and feel they are supperior by being huge.
They are in their own little world and are often used as security people
/bounsers because of how scary they look when angry...
Some times its a combination of the above three categories.
There are two types of steroids
- The real ''hardcore'' stuff:
Illegal stuff sold in the black market and smugled through mexico
in the country, they are injected and very dangerous.
- The ''softcore'' stuff.
Usually pills ,they work like the above but are a softer mild version.
Suprisingly these are legal !!In fact you can buy them at a GNC near you.
Its like saying it is legal to smoke malboro light
but its illegal to smoke malboro red because... they are bad for you!!
Its a ed up world we are living it isnt it ? |

| Been working out for 2 weeks now, and it's going great. Still need to get hold on some protein shakes, or I will never ever gain weight, and only be wasting my time. My lifting is increasing a bit already though so that's positive, but I need pounds on my body :) |
|
|
| kid nyce |
ok well i've been in the gym for a month now, and i have to say im pretty happy with my results thus far...
i'm in the gym 5x week every morning
lifting 3 of the 5 days before work and cardio after work
3 lifting days = back and biceps, chest and triceps, shoulders and legs.
I do cardio every day before work tues/thurs, afterwork mon/wed/fri(lift days)
i started at 195lbs im at 188 right now. My target by dec is 175.
My supplement diet consist of
Protein Shake - Isopure Zero Carb Strawberry and Cream & Vanilla
2 Scoops to 1/2cup of water, half a banana, 4 frozen strawberries, 1 scoop of non-fat vanilla yogurt and 1 teaspoon of prolab glutamine
I rotate my lunch and dinner meals but keep my breakfast the same.
Breakfast is protein shake before I leave the apartment followed by an equal cup of water
Orange Juice and 4 egg whites at work followed by a cup of coffee also with another cup of water
Lunch I rotate
-tuna with onion, salt and pepper, a nickel size of mustard, with chopped tomatos and crackers.
-sliced tomato with fresh mozzarella over crackers
-canned chicken with onion, salt and pepper, nickel size of low-fat mayo over crackers and cucumber slices (about 8)
Dinner I rotate
-boiled chicken with rice and beans
-grilled fish with potato and corn
-eat out occassionally
Essentials:
WATER! Tons of water - you know how they say 9 cups per day? Well I average about 13cups per day.
And this one if tough but I've been trying to keep at it - 9 fruits or veggies per day (potatos do not count)
Well thats the projected routine thus far. Keeping it up is easy! |
