I'm not saying I have the answers. I just know that I keep giving soccer a chance to impress me and it continues to fail. Its a sport that is set in its ways and refuses to even consider changes that might make the sport better. Every other major sport has made changes that were controversial but over time the fans have not just accepted the changes but have grown to love the changes.

LOL France. I guess it truly was all downhill for that team after Zidane's headbutt, their last moment of World Cup glory.
But hey, at least England now has something more to play for since they don't seem terribly inclined to play for a win: score at least one more goal than the French!

Football could evolve a little bit, but hundreds of millions of people around the globe enjoy it as it is. If you don't enjoy it, well, that's your problem not football's.

Greece has totally shut Messi down. Any other team watching this will have a man marking him the rest of the tournament.
I'm surprised how selfish (not the best term, but I'll go with it) he's been with the ball while knowing that he's being smothered. It looks like he's just frustrating himself in the process. I'm also surprised that Maradona didn't sub him off to both avoid injury and open things up a bit with Higuain or Tevez
Great strike at goal just now though

Diving is part of the game just as fouls are a huge part of basketball. Grow a ing pair, the game is perfect as it is.

but it is football's problem....any major sport wants more people watching and playing their sport over the other sports. Sure soccer is the most popular sport in the world but I'm sure they would love to have a bigger piece of the North American Pie. The other major sports in north america continuously try to gain market share in Europe and you would think football would want to do the same here. As it stands right now I'm not going to get my children involved in soccer but more likely baseball, lacrosse and hockey.

Hope you aren't serious here, my two little ones are free to choose in first place.

please don't say that. I believe all divers should get red cards.. Its humiliating. My sentiment could not be expressed as well as this commentator.

sure...my kids will be free to choose whatever sports they want but their decisions are going to be influenced by the sports I play and watch. If they are not exposed to soccer it's highly unlikely they are going to choose that as a sport to play.
