what happened to Joao Moutinho? we've been hearing here how he's the next Paulo Sousa or Rui Costa and I didn't see him at all.
Had a poor season in Sporting and wasn't even called up, that was a bit of a surprise due to his status but totally justified by his form.

And was that pepe in midfield the thug from madrid? he looks diff if so :p
Yep, new haircut. :p

he looks chubbier with the hair. Was diff to see him not playing centre-back too, and not assaulting others, well nearly :p
Surprised on JM. He & Veloso are long linked with the Premier League although when I saw Sporting at Bolton they dind't look like world beaters. Veloso's hair is awful too.

Hey guys look at that, a ref that wasn't trigger happy, ignored most of the dives, was fair with the cards and reffed consistently for the full 90min. I'm shocked!
Ok so some will say it wasn't a red but he did elbow the guy in the head which can technically be a red card.

Three shots on goal for the Portuguese. You won't win many matches like that.

There were a lack of shots in that game but at least the ones on target resulted in some great saves by the goalies on both sides.
The only truly disappointing thing was that Ronaldo didn't cry as usual when they get knocked out.
In case anyone missed him talking to the cameraman asking him questions:

portugal will never win anything. not with that crybaby as captain. just imagine the locker room attitude with ronaldo in charge there.
oh, and lacking one great striker who can finish. that's been portugal's big fault for many a years

I was going to post this one during the earlier conversation about Beckham.
Seeing an interview with the average English footballer always reminds me of this
