They can't ban them from the South African soccer games because of the "culture" issue | Culture issue? In the US an event can set rules what you can bring in and do. Don't like it don't come. We invented the electric guitar and it is the staple instrument in American music, can you bring to to a game no. big deal no.
It highlights lack of consideration for others. i see this every day with ppl with after market exhausts to being plain selfish and rude. it be one thing if the Vuvuzela had a historical role in soccer. i don't think it does. if they were holding the olympics i doubt they would be allowed. |

Or...it may more aptly describe the typical self-absorbed yank sports fan who thinks a game like Tennis is comparable to Football both in style, pace, and environment; and that big sporting events should only be available to the "wealthy". | US sporting events recognize that rules need to be put in place to govern fan behavior. Notice there are no riots/violent/disruptive behavior allowed in our country for the general good of the spectators. This applies to a wide spectrum of sports besides Tennis. While not everyone shares my view there is no need for any form of noise maker to enjoy a sport. If your voice isn't good enough then you need to go join a musical band instead of watching a game. |

Precisely why he said "culture issue". South Africans don't seem to be on the same wavelength :p |

I don't think a tennis association would allow the fans to do anything other than look left and right. As for the Olympics, yeah, I do think they'd let supporters toot the vuvuzelas during the competition.
I bet the runners would do their utmost best :D |

:stongue:
What makes you think that riots or violent behavior are allowed in football? Proper security measures are taken just like in any other major sporting event. FIFA even keeps tabs on violent fans and tries to make sure they don't get inside stadiums. While vuvuzelas may annoy the out of you and me and millions of other people, comparing their use in football matches with violent behaviour is ludicrous.
Anyways, why do you care so much? Isn't football just a stupid, boring sport? |

IGK, please stop.
There is a reason why most people view Americans as idiots and undeserving to win when it comes to world sports (and most other things) and you are a prime example of it. |

| After watching a few soccer games I've come to appreciate how well sports I watch are run and officiated. Vuvuzela being just one prime example, no instant replay another, I could go on but you get the idea. |
