Best team won in the end, germany just didn't try to win the game and in the second half spain dominated, should have finished off when pedro and torres had a 2 on 1..
Hopefully they can win the final, they are by far and away the best international team over the last 4 years. Amazing to watch.
Some of the best games were early in the tournament, but on the whole mostly disappointing. I really don't understand soccer rules, why Muller had to sit out because of one yellow card. Germany's offense really suffered without him. The game as a whole wasn't interesting. Germany played very conservative and Spain bungled so many scoring chances. That 2 on 1 was really embarrassing. And here we are supposed to be watching elite play...

Germany just choked this game, I thought that after Serbia that was it with chokes, but sadly no.
I have watched almost all spanish games and I still don't see how these divas have gone up so far, remind me of the italians 4 years ago. They do not deserve to win this cup. Netherlands please save us from 4 years of spanish arrogance.

I saw the previous game and that yellow was questionable at best. IMO suspension should only be given when a player fouls with the intention of hurting other players, deemed as unsportsmanlike or dirty. For example, like the infamous Zidane headbutt. Refs should be able to review the replay after the game before making a determination. That's what I think is reasonable and fair especially at this stage of tournament.

For about the fourth time, that "something" is the point I was making in the post of mine you quoted. So save me the Slychoanalysis.

And yet, you keep delighting us with your ill-informed opinions and commentary after each day of games.

OK, you win. You're the best football analyst the internet has ever seen and all of TA should consider themselves lucky to count you among its members.

Please explain how they were divas, ever, if at all today. Please. Not a single card the entire game and the ref barely pulled the whistle out. Class acts from both sides and it was a stellar game that came down to "oops I stepped off on the wrong foot". Go home Canada.
edit // Ugh, I just realized that Yukki is getting cooler in my book

Still don't think it's overconfidence, but agree it looks like that. Personally I didn't get that impression, they knew Uruguay wouldn't stop till the last second, have seen it before. But it's also not the first time this happens to them, already happened years ago. They stop pushing for whatever reason and by that the other team can pickup their way of playing and make it difficult for Oranje. They also asked Sneijder about this and he said they just lost control a bit and couldn't really give a cause when I'm remembering correct.
What this team does have more then ever before is patience. They are convinced that they will get their chances. Probably this is what brought them this far. The calmness of Bert van Marwijk reflects on the players.
true, true! I wasn't really sure, i was just saying what i thought it might have been, but you're very right :)
can't wait for the final now... to be honest, if netherlands lose i would have preferred it to be agaisnt germany who i feel earned the victory more than spain who have been pretty ordinary, but at least netherlands should have a much more experienced opponent...
gonna be a reallly technical, defensive game i think... maybe come down to penalties..
