You are free to give a reasonable rebuttal to everything i've said, but I prefer the educated scientist guy/girl Lira. :toothless |

Rann you're being quite obnoxious calling Switzerland an "amateur" side full of players that have nothing but day jobs. That's absolute and you know it :stongue:
The entire PLANET vies for the world cup and only 32 countries make it each tournament. For any team to get this far is testament to the fact that they do, in fact, have a great squad. That's like calling Ghana and Nigeria teams, at the end of the day the Swiss made it and better squads like the Turkish and the Czechs didn't. |

What about Australia then??
And Egypt? :p |

Same goes for Australia, although this campaign they were put in a different continental league (is that right?) than years past. Their qualifying group was still nothing to scoff at. Australia doesn't have too many bad players though, a handful of them play in the EPL.
Don't get me started on why Egypt isn't in the World Cup. It's a long, dark, sad road. The fact of the matter is that Egypt is the best team in Africa, and has been, for the past decade. The fact that they let in a ing fluke goal against, of all people, the Algerians makes me so ing mad. Egypt beat Italy and almost drew with Brasil...BRASIL. NO reason we shouldn't be in this. I believe Karim said it best, the ta3meya kicked in and we lost lol |

well obviously Egypt didn't win the games they needed to. I'd say thats a pretty big reason. And if they couldn't win in the qualifiers, chances are they wouldn't win in the finals.
having a squad is only part of it. Maybe Egypt lack majorly on the mental side <- theres your reason.

Australia is now in Asia. We left Oceania after the last WC. It gets a bit boring beating teams >30-0 |

Nah, we're no better than this Swiss squad, we're actually fucking bad right now. We couldn't even beat Azerbaijan. |

Sys-J, how am I talking utter e?
I stated that 7 players from the starting line up play for local swiss teams and the rest are virtually unknown in the grand scheme of things (unlike the vast majority of the spanish team who are internationally famous/household names) and you just proved me right with a simple google. |
Are you deliberately being ing stupid or do you not know anything about football? "23 man squad" and "starting line up" are not the same thing. Let's go through the starting line up from yesterday man by man and look at where they play:
Benaglio - Wolfsburg (Germany)
Lichtsteiner - Lazio (Italy)
Senderos - Fulham (England)
Grichting - Auxerre (France)
Ziegler - Sampdoria (Italy)
Huggel - Basel (Switzerland)
Barnetta - Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)
Inler - Udinese (Italy)
Fernandes - Saint Etienne (France)
Nkufo - Seattle Sounders (USA)
Derdiyok - Bayer Leverkusen (Germany)
Only one player in the starting line-up plays in Switzerland currently, and every single one of them has played professionally in a major European league, where they earned a -ton more money than you ever will. You know nothing about football, you are utterly wrong.
Now off. |

| Yep, I see plenty of decent clubs in that list. |

| Unlucky break there for the South Koreans. |

Would you look at that. After total domination, the Argentines' only mistake so far gets the Koreans back in the game.
Unreal. |

Go Korea!
Wish I could watch it, wasn't this originally supposed to be the evening match?! France vs Mexico will be so boring, thank you very much  |
