it wasn't a dive, there was contact but it's upto the ref to decide upon. Sure, it wasn't sporting but if you saw any of how the brazil/portugal game went, along with the way some other floppers have been, it's hardly criminal. However there were one or two tackles that were way worse. |

| the portugal game, the guy got a yellow for diving in the box. That was well played by the ref, although a red would have been more satisfactory. |

The rule, however, is yellow...not red. |

Man, South America nearly swept First Place in all the groups they had a team in. If only Chile managed to score an extra goal against Spain, huh.
Also: the DUTCH!?? |

Considering Chile's Goalie error, and an unjustified red card, Chile played with 10 players and still managed to score against Spain.
I'm sad and happy, and proud to the way Chile played against Spain.
Now we gotta deal with Brazil, which I consider a bigger threat then Spain.
Spain, are you still a favorite of the CUP ? wonders.. |

What about us? We sucked against Cameroon, but several players were not playing at 100%.
I'm 100% positive we will beat Slovakia, but Brazil/Chile will be a helluva lot tougher.
I'm very pleased with the results in group H. Yay Chile, booo Switzerland. |

Hang on.
So this means Spain meets portugal? yessssssss.
That game is going to either be epic or violent. Hopefully both. I predict many cards in that match. Can you imagine the diving that's going to take place? They might as well hold the match in a pool.
And now if Arg beat Mex and Eng beat Ger, then we're looking at a Arg-Eng Quarter Final....... |

i know no instant replay etc, but after seeing torres etc, it just seems like they should have a kind of match review panel for like that.... he should have been carded for that ing crap, especially since it got the other dude sent off...
maybe i'm just being too sooky about it, but it ing pisses me off. the good thing about teams like new zealand is they just go for the ball, no bull diving etc...
then you get italy, portugal, and spain doing anything to AVOID playing the game... diving, attacking the opponents, not even trying to win sometimes, until the last minute...
get a match review committee on and make em paranoid etc...
thoughts? completely stupid? |

You're just upset I wasn't supporting Spain :p
But, yeah that'd be great. Today just 5 students showed up to my class 6 hours after the final whistle, out of 30. Enough of this madness, this is not a bloody national holiday
