What? Spain completely dominated today. They were the superior team. |

today. But the tournament as a whole I gotta agree, Spain haven't looked fantastic. Over the past month Germany have looked to be the superior team, although that didn't help them today. |

The problem, if you want to call it that, with Spain during the tournament is that they wanted Fernando Torres to get his skill/confidence/match fitness back. So they started him every game which resulted in a much different line up than they're used to. They usually never start Torres and use him as a sub, with Villa alone up front as the striker. With Torres starting they put Villa behind him or off to his side and let Torres up front as the main striker, that obviously wasn't working as he is not 100% recovered from TWO knee surgeries this year. Today was a different ball game, they needed to win this and had very little room to around. Villa started as lone striker up front with Torres as the sub and they shined, La Furia in full effect today.
I can see Torres starting again on Sunday against the Netherlands, and if he's unable to produce results after the first half + some time they'll sub him out for Llorente or maybe Pedro.
By the way, ing Pedro could have snapped Torres' goal drought today but he's a stupid . Fyi. |

the netherlands hard. The last thing i want to see is van bommel holding the world cup. Please spain save us from this idiot.
Go spain go. |

1:0 is not complete domination by any means. |

this and bas remove your spain-whore goggles, Spain is totally not deserving this, very ordinary and sorry to say this boring to death to watch.
(not saying Germany was better today, or deserving to win, they just choked big time). |

LOL, did you even watch the game? :p
I mean, Spain had full control of the match from the first second, besides a few counter-attacks from Germany here and there. They had the ball and managed it in the way the do best, which is just passing it back and forth to make their opponents dizzy running after the ball waiting for the best time to launch one of Xavi's or Iniesta's precise passes and score. That could have happened several times today but Germany's defense was on point and so was Neuer.
All that Germany could do was wait until Spain made a mistake to launch a quick counter-attack, but alas, that never happened. And Spain's defense isn't Argentina's.
You don't need a 4-0 scoreline in order to dominate a game from beginning to end. ;) |

You're just bitter that Germany got completely owned today.
If there's a team that deserves to be in this final out of the 32 it's Spain, with Uruguay a close second. Germany looked fantastic against England and Argentina because those teams gave them a ridiculous amount of liberties that Spain or any other real team doesn't give. Also Germany, like Brazil was a team that is very comfortable playing a game when they have the lead or they're 0-0. When they've found themselves down in the scoreboard, they have no ing clue what to do to turn the game around. They showed it against Serbia and they showed it again against Spain. Brazil showed it against Netherlands. The best strategy both teams could come up with was to throw desperate crosses into the box, hoping for a lucky bounce. |
