I think after today it's a lock that FIFA will have full instant replay for the 2014 World Cup.
Being against instant replay right now is completely illogical.
The integrity of any game is to make sure the calls are correct. This mentality that a lot of the morons on here have where they don't want to "ruin" the game with instant replay, shut the up and deal with it. Sports change over time and football badly needs a change right now. |
nope...soccer doesn't change...apparently soccer is perfect. |

What tradition??? The most fundamental element of the game: the ball, changes every other year.
That doesn't even make any sense. |
revenue > the game's integrity. |

Or teams will just use them to help waste even more time when they are ahead in the game. |
The call could be done only after bad goals and red cards. That would be a good and easy start. |

Well, you could limit the use of replay to allowing or disallowing goals involving only certain circumstances such as debated offsides, breach of the goal line, handball infractions, etc. |

I think the ideal move is to have another referee who watches the game on a monitor and can quickly review something while the play continues. It shouldn't take that long to review if a play was offside or if a goal did go in. |

Well that's what a lot of the people on here believe- that there's still "tradition" in football...or sports in general.
These kind of people make the same case against baseball getting instant replay. They compare baseball today to what it was back in 1910 and say they shouldn't ruin the tradition of the game.
Meanwhile, baseball is 99% different today than it was back then. There is no tradition left between all the steroids, HGH, new stadium dimensions, new bat technology, new training methods, new glove shapes, new uniform styles, new batting helmets, new batting gloves, new on-deck warmup methods... |
