| so wait...that goal mexico seemed to score off of a corner that was called offside around the 20th minute......was that actually offside or no? and what's the reasoning? the commentators during the game were saying he wasn't offside, and that was what i thought. but then on sportscenter after the game they said it was clearly offside. what's the deal? |

| Offsides or not it's at the discretion of the referee and the linesmen. They make the call and that's it, they don't use replay in football. |

I didn't see, but knowing the track record of bad calls I'd say it was onsides :p

It was a correct call.
The offside rule states that there must be 2 players from the opposite team between the goal line and the attacker at the instant that the ball is passed.
As you can see, the forward is standing a step ahead from the keeper thus only one player is standing between him and the goal line.
