So no, they are not going to change the game for a market that can't even self sustain.

This right here goes to show there are casual fans who are more then willing to spend money on soccer instead of the other 4 major sports.

Changes are needed so that the market will sustain itself.

No, I think that because of games like Italy - Australia (WC 2006, overtime 1-0) or Mexico - Italy (WC 2002, last minute 1-1).

I don't think it's a stretch at all though, italy are a bit of a 'lucky'/'cheating' team :p

A team with six points not moving on is rough.

So many Chileans are so happy after the last win, saying were guaranteed a spot, but all I wanna do is slap them cause they're too stupid to realize how little a lead we hold going into a very tough last match.

Italy behind. Maybe I'll have to eat my words about them, but I'll eat them happily! :D

No, just no. No.

This is what the World Cup is and why it's good, because teams are getting much more level and blowouts are getting rarer.
Nobody really gives a about the big teams anymore because they can all be beaten.
If the big teams are unable to perform, then they are undeserving of having "easier" match ups. They can't ride on the coat tails of their past countrymen forever.
It's insulting to those other nations to call them "minnows" and talk about them like that.

Lol, another butt-hurt fan. Back in 98 I celebrated your epic croatian win over Germany and wanted you guys to beat France, thanks to that great generation of spectacular players like Suker, Boban, Prosinecki. Yet you were "minnows", or "outsiders" if you prefer that word. Just like we always were before overcoming a few top sides and started to get regularly to the semis of big tournaments.

I just feel that's more deserved and entertaining to watch than say, Turkey's easy way to the semis in 2002 after barely scrapping through a poor group and then beating Senegal and Japan... boring.

i was watching the NZ game cause i knew the italian one would piss me off so much... sure enough i switch it over, and some italian guy is lying on the ground after a dive...

FFS Italy, mussolini would be ashamed of every member of the team.

i really, really hope they lose 10-0, it's all they deserve.

the injury the slovakian got is the only excuse for lying on the ground imo, that's what's good about the NZ team... no crap, they just go all out at the ball
Moongoose
So ar Slovakia is showing a much better game, making good at their shots while italians are...well i dont know what they are doing...bogus dives and injuring the opposing team i guess.

Moongoose
Holly crap that was centimetres, no millimetres, that, microns away from being a goal for the italians.

And slovakia than wastes a 97,5% chance.
