well guess what the casual fan in hockey wants to take out checking and fighting and then they claim they will watch more. do you think the NHL would eliminate such a huge aspect of the game and revolutionize the sport just to please the people who dont watch it and sya this is why. would they really take the chance to piss off every hockey fan just to please a few people who dont even watch the sport to begin with...excuses are excuses you either like the sport or you dont.
being totally honest theres nothing they could do to baseball that would make me watch the sport. there is nothing they could do to basketball which would make enjoy watching the sport...im just not a fan of it. |

Good for you. I guess you can give me links stating how soccer is not getting any more fans, or even losing them at the moment? If not, then what exactly is the problem? |

hockey viewership keeps rising because hockey viewership hit an all time low after the strike. once you hit rock bottom the only place to go is up.
there were more people watching in the late 70's and 80's then there are today. |

they have already started to eliminate checking in hockey and as recently as this season implemented new penalties for various hits.
If they eliminated offsides from soccer would you never watch the sport again? |

it has nothing to do with whether or not soccer is loosing fans...its about taking over a greater share of the market for major sports. |

Offsides haven't always existed. This is an example of something not working right and FIFA stepping in to fix it. Which in itself is a reason why they will never be eliminated.
