The red card was not that harsh actually. It was from behind. That ref is known for applying the rules correctly. As for the handball, it was unintentional. Grow a pair.

I don't know what you and woscar are talking about. I like this ref. He has the balls of calling it like it is and doesn't care if that makes him controversial. What other refs have given yellow cards for diving in this WC?

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Please stop.

I can assure you that I have seen this ref in action more times than you, him being from CONCACAF and all and have been witness to his usual display of appalling refereeing.

He is very well known for appalling refereeing in Mexico and in CONCACAF:

He has been accused of fixing the finals of the 2005 tournament by sending off 3 Monterrey players. Toluca won the championship.

Even with that on his record, he was awarded yet AGAIN with a very important match in 2006, one of the semi-finals of the Mexican Championship. He awarded a completely fabricated penalty kick to America in the 90th minute of the first leg, which fortunately was blocked by the keeper.

I remember there was a Tigres game in 1999 in which he sent off 6 players.

He refereed a game in the U17 tournament where he made the USA take a penalty kick three times. He was also the referee of the England - Paraguay game which was also talked about a lot for the awful refereeing.

In February of this year, he awarded 8 minutes of stoppage time in a game between Queretaro and Santos which allowed the latter to draw the game. LINK

Don't mistake wanting to be a protagonist with having "balls to call it like it is". This man is a wanker.

As for last night's red card, it was completely unwarranted. Watch it again and see how Cahill even retracts his legs to try to avoid contact when he realizes he's late.

They won't ban the horns, but make a new version that's 20dB quieter.
