yeah. I tipped Arsenal to win the PL last year. Maybe its' being a bolton fan, i like the underdogs to win but I do see weaknesses in the teams that haven't been exploited yet. It's been tough to find teams playing well enough consistently to do that though but as the competition goes on and if the dutch step up, who knows. Robben is the kind of player who could really test the makeshift leftback of Bastos for example. It's all about looking (again as a bolton fan) for a weakness in an opponent though. Like Arsenal, you'd target their GK in the air, Man United, you'd roofie fergies whiskey and with chelsea you'd just steal the anchor from Abramovich' yacht and leave john terry out at sea, like he seemed to be yesterday. |

I think Bastos did very well tonight against Sanchez, who's a really tricky winger. Robben is obviously a better player than Sanchez, but the Brazilian system is set up so the full-backs push on and the defensive midfielders cover. Bastos' role is not to make tackles but to hold up the winger until that cover arrives. Because Robben is completely left-footed and invariably tries to come inside for the shot, he'll be running into that midfield cover. |

| possibly but I have seen him go onto his right sometimes and his sheer pace might just catch it out, esp on the counter. I'd still rather see them go 4-4-2 and have the old carlos/cafu types who gave the same attacking as these do but were also not too shoddy defensively if needed. I've also been impressed with the dutch right back so we'll see how good he is against robinho. |

| I'll say to othat sanchez disappointed me a little tonight, he didn't run at them as much as I'd have liked to have seen but tried to pass early. I think he has the ability and pace to totally stretch them so it was a shame not to see him try. |

| Robben's right foot is a wooden block. |

| that still gives him a better first touch than rooney had this cup. |

| I read the stat on the BBC text coverage that Rooney has given the ball away or been tackled in possession more times than any other player at this tournament. This is why I think the problem with England is not tactics or personnel - if Wayne Rooney can't control a football for England then who the wil? The problem is clearly mental, whether it's the pressure, the team spirit or something else. |

we took the wrong players for a start. SWP, Heskey etc aren't gamewinners at this level. We needed pace so maybe walcott, agbonlahor etc, and I think terry & others just didn't respond to fabio removing him as captain. there is good talent though, i wrote down a 'future' team to make me feel better for 2014 or 2012
hart - gibbs - johnson - cahill - shawcross - rodwell - wilshere - milner - a. johnson - agbonlahor - brazilian who finds an english grandmother. |

Putting a lot of faith in Portugal there. |

| I don't think we'll make it to the semis. Not if Sneijder and van Persie keep disappointing like they are doing now. |

Spain loses one game and wins the other two by less goals than they should have and they're no good, all of a sudden. |
