I have to side with system_j here. Clearly brasil, after their chile preformance, showed high aspiration for this cup and were thought to be, by far, one of the better teams in this cup. After that first half, against netherlands, they simply lost all composure and the team fell appart. It was like they couldn't believe what was happening to them and they were frustated and panicked. A good comparison would be like the germany serbia game earlier played. Where somehow, germany lost to serbia and played a 10 to 11 game.

If they'd been utterly played off the park by the Dutch as Argentina were against Germany your statement might have credence, but given it was a narrow win courtesy of a freak own goal and a red card after Brazil had obviously dominated the first half... This Brazil team is still obviously better than the 2006 team managed by Parreira, and I noticed you've conveniently overlooked that point to focus on the 1990 team. Don't scrabble too hard for a "I told you so moment", son.

They credited that goal to Sneijder :p

And that's how it should be, as the ball would have gone in also if he hadn't touched it. So it wasn't a freak own goal at all. Actually I think the credits for many goals then should go to the keeper whenever he touches the ball before it goes in and even changes the direction of the ball much more.

The Dutch at least showed not to panic after the first half, so I think it's not fair to compare both matches that easily. I don't think this will happen when the Germans play against Spain.
If it would then I do think chances for our team are even smaller then they were against Brazil.

Not only that, we have also more breweries in Bavaria than the entire rest of Germany

Strange actually, that the brewery which is called Bavaria is in Holland since 1719.

That's what I'm worried about for the game against Spain. We even might just be able to roll over them, like in the last two games, but only if things go well from the beginning. If they don't and say Spain scores an early goal we might see a pretty horrible German team going down.
SYSTEM-J
Germany can't let Spain score first. Once Spain have scored they can keep the ball all day long.

I even think Germany wouldn't be extremely disappointed if they lose. The team played much better than anyone was expecting before the tournament. Besides that it's a young and new team which isn't at full strength yet. I think they will become better in the years coming.

Of course not, a German team always has 4 goals when competing at a tournament:
1) Be better than Italy.
2) Be better than France.
3) Be better than England.
4) Be better than Holland.

3 out of 4 is a great result. :D

We only have one goal, be better than anyone :)

Question is if it ever will happen.
