watched the Argentina vs Nigeria game
Was impressed by Argentina in the same way I was impressed by South Korea. But i'd have to say South Korea was a bit more focused and controlling of their game and the ball than Argentina. But then again Greece is probably a weaker team than Nigeria, which is also a very weak and what seems to be poorly coached team. Nigeria seems to have not understood the concept of defense, or any idea about trying to take the ball from Argentinas forwards only 35 feet out from the goal, they were waiting for mistakes more than trying to create problems for Argentina's offense, and for good reason Messi has what 5 or 6 shots this game and 4 of them on goal? One bright point for Nigeria was their goalie, he did well at saving goals many times. Towards the last third of the game, Argentina seemed to get lax in their interest to press on both offense and defense, an interesting drop in energy given the amount of time still available. It wasnt a great game, but still had its moments.
And ESPN finally has got it right, their pre and post game commentating has improved dramatically from last World Cup. Martinez is simply brilliant in his articulation, convictions, and analysis, Lamas is not bad either at his commentating. |
IMO, the people of the world are bing pacified by ipods, computers, cell phones and internationally televised sports. |

I agree...and these international televised sports is a nice blind nationalistic pride builder. There are more dense Sushipunks made by the day. Hooray?
Thank God it happens to be entertaining, albeit pacifying. |

isn't is lucky for us that you are able to identify the pacifiers out there. The fact that you do absolutely nothing about it, excpet allow yourself to be pacified yourself by them shows just how hypocritical (or stupid, depending on your perspective) you actually are though. You are allowing yourself to be pacified exactly the same as everyone else, but you just love your soapbox too much. |
