| It's a cultural thing, simple. It's fortunate that the quality national team selections does not directly correlate with the country's population. That's what makes football so exciting. |

Yeah, the European Championship...you know, this little unimportant once-every-4-years tournament where pathetic teams like England, Germany, France, Italy, Portugal, Holland etc. battle each other for the title.
I have no words to eat, as I'm also skeptical about Spain delivering yet again (they've been known as notorious big tournament bottlers, despite the massive amount of talent). I thought them actually pulling the EC off was a miracle. But to go as far as calling them "nothing"? Jesus... |

cultural? i don't think that at all. it's more about popularity. it's easier for the majority to look at the ranks and decide who to cheer for. it has nothing to do about culture. |

the only similarity is that they sucked dick in qualifying. Thats it. |
no they had a star called maradona in 86 and now they have messi
the team was broken back then and so is now
add to this that this team compared to the one on 86 has way more talent .
Im seeing maradona as a good motivator , short term tournaments like the world cup fit perfect for this type of Coach. |

i saw the tournament. it was crap. they're nothing to me. obviously, i understand there are a lot of others who think otherwise. that's why i go as far as thinking they are nothing. it's called getting a raise out of someone, i think. |
